Tom has been diagnosed with Intellectual Disability. He has been found to be more suited to go to a special school.

Tom has inadequate social skills and has difficulty communicating. He has difficulty in expressing how he feels and communicates in very simple sentences. He is able to understand simple instructions but has difficulties following them. He also has difficulty regulating his emotions.

One day Tom had a meltdown in class after recess. The teacher did not know the reason behind the meltdown. She tried to calm him down but it did not work. He got more agitated and he hit his classmate in the stomach and his teacher who was pregnant.
After a while he calmed down and the case was brought to your attention.

Ian is a Sec 1 boy with ASD. He is generally well-behaved  in class. He is intelligent and able to understand instructions well. He has occasional meltdowns and the triggers can vary.

One day, during lessons, the teacher asked the class to copy down answers when she was going through past year questions. He did not have his book with him and he did not want to copy the answers. He said that he already had the answers written in his book. The teacher insisted that he copy down the answers on a piece of paper.

Ian got upset and he had a meltdown. He shouted at the teacher and stomped on her feet a few times. He was removed from class and he later informed the AED (LBS) that he was upset and knew that he had done something wrong. He apologized to the teacher.

Investigation revealed that he was already agitated during recess earlier and he did not follow the instructions of the teacher who was on duty.

The teacher had to seek medical attention as her leg was swollen.

Perhaps, I will also email the list to HSA to see if further actions can be taken.

Really hope that some agencies/ministries (don't know who I can approach) can look into addressing the blatant online sales of vapouriser and pods. It is a worrying trend....
