Chickenpox is a varicella-zoster virus. It results in the person having an itchy rash over themselves that they can't help but to itch. It is relatively harmless to most people unless you are pregnant, a baby, or anyone who has a weak immune system. It is typically gone within a week unless you get the vaccine, then your symptoms will go away quicker and be more mild.

You can take a vaccine that doctors recommend taking one between 12-15 months old and another one again at 4-6 years old. It does not guarantee you won't get it, but when you do, symptoms will be mild. There is no guarantee way to prevent it. Just measures to take to hopefully prevent it.
