But, three of her statements gives a big impact to me and leaves a lot of questions on my mind. "Am I being conquered by the power of technology?". "Is it too late to make a step in this nightmare we are living in?". "Does technology kills interpersonal relationship?". First, among the three statements as Sherry Turkle have stated, "conversation is converted to connection". Based on her talk, people sacrifices conversation for mere connection. Most of us are engaged to the use of technology which in result, we forgot the real essence of conversation. No more face-to-face talks, but more on chat communications through online communication. This is rampant nowadays especially that there are new gadgets that has been launched. Since teens are the new trends today, they tend to engaged theirselves on these stuffs most of the time. This is why, the real conversation doesn' t happen in a physical contact anymore but it does through online communication. Second, she stated "no one is listening". How could you ever communicate or make conversation to someone or anybody if they don't even listen to you? When they are too busy working on their personal stuffs in social media and such. Well, I bet Sherry is right. It seems so hard to have a personal conversation with one another if each of us do not know how to listen. When people are pretending to be deaf all the time. Isn' t it? Lastly, "time to talk". It seems that we don' t have time anymore to hang out with people through online communication. I can see that it's hard for us to spend a little time in contacting with other people.
