Fewer girls than boys go to school from the embarrassment of feminine related issues and girls often are sent home from the lack of sanitary pads. The capacity in the education system for children with disabilities is also almost non existent. The schools in Port Moresby (let alone the rest of the population) do not have access to clean, non-disease ridden water and their only fluid intake throughout the day it rainwater or water from the infested rivers and waterways surrounding. A final adversity in going to school for these children, is the crime that surrounds Port Moresby, it is easy to be raped, or worse in going to and from school.
