The education system in Papua New Guinea and especially Port Moresby, is in a very dire condition. only one in three children actually finish their schooling and less even start it. Fewer girls than boys go to school from the embarrassment of feminine related issues and girls often are sent home from the lack of sanitary pads. The capacity in the education system for children with disabilities is also almost non existent. The schools in Port Moresby (let alone the rest of the population) do not have access to clean, non-disease ridden water and their only fluid intake throughout the day it rainwater or water from the infested rivers and waterways surrounding. A final adversity in going to school for these children, is the crime that surrounds Port Moresby, it is easy to be raped, or worse in going to and from school. In many cases, having not any approval from parents to go to school is an adversity in itself.

Through having conducted research, I have found Papua New Guinea, and more specifically, the city of Port Moresby is very unsustainable. This is a result of many actions taken by not only the government of Papua New Guinea, but many other Governments taking advantage of such a vulnerablecountry. This deficiency eventually escalates into a nation-wide problem when it is not put right at the roots, and therefore, Papua New Guinea is a prime example of a corrupt government disfiguring its nation's livability.
