One day Rosa was sitting in back of a bus and there were not enough seats in front section and the driver told Rosa to give up her seat so a white person could sit down. Rosa said "No" and she spent the night in jail.
This one brave act showed people that it was possible to say "No" to injustice.
Rosa's friends declared a boicott. They asked every single black person not to use any of the buses in the city.
Rosa Parks fought for Civil Rights Movement in the US such as Martin Luther King.
She died on 24 October 2005.

His real name was Rolihlahla, but when he went to school his teachers called him "Nelson". He studied hard and became a lawyer. In South Africa, at that time, black people were considered inferior and were often poor. In 1948 the South African Government which had only white members, reinforced apartheid. This meant that blacks and whites had to live in different areas, they couldn't marry, sit together in a restaurant or on a bus, study in the same school or play in the same sport team. Inspired by Ghandi, Mandela started a peaceful protest, but he was arrested. in 1964 he was sent to a terrible prison on Robben Island.
An international campaign to free Mandela began. Finally in 1990 South Africa got a new President who freed Mandela after 28 years in prison. The two men worked together to create multiracial democracy for South Africa and in 1993 they won the Nobel Peace Prize for their work. In 1994 black people in South Africa voted for the first time and Mandela became the first black President.
When he died in 2013 the whole world realised it had lost a very great man.
18 July is Nelson Mandela's day, people are asked to devote 67 minutes to helping others because 67 were the years that Mandela spend saving his country.

The Taliban forbade girls from going to school. Many people disagreed but they thought it would be safer to keep their girls at home. Malala thought this was unfair and wrote about it online. She loved school very much, so one day she said on TV: "Education is power for women. The Taliban are closing girls' schools because they don't want women to be powerful".
A few days later, Malala was into her school bus as usual. Suddenly, two Taliban men stopped the bus and shouted: "Which one of you is Malala?". When her friends looked at her, the men shot her in the head.
Malala was rushed to hospital and she didn't die. She recovered faster than anyone could have imagined.
Malala is the youngest person ever to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
