''Christmas is the best holiday in my opinion.'' ''It is where you celebrate Jesus's birthday.'' ''People give gifts, and it is the most fun for little kids because some of them get what they have been wanting for a long time.'' ''If you celebrated Christmas, you would love it because you will have the joy of opening awesome presents bright and early in the morning.''

''Why do you get more excited about Christmas than most others things that you do?'' The pine tree asked. ''Well, mostly because of getting the awesome presents and spending time with my family.'' ''That sounds really fun''. The pine tree said. ''What kind of presents do you normally get or have been really wanting to get?'' ''Well, I've been wanting to get some new Nike shoes for a long time.'' ''But, it is not all about the presents, we are celebrating, one of the greatest men's birthday that has ever lived. He is the one that helps me live.'' I said.

''Why do I never get anything?'' The pine tree asked. ''How about this, you can come to our house and we will get you all of the things you have wanted forever.'' ''That sounds fantastic.'' ''This is what Christmas is all about, being cheerful, and spending time with the people you love.''

I picked it up and looked at it for a very long time.

"It looks like it could be a small Christmas tree" said my younger brother.

"I found some small Christmas decorations in the store that could fit the tree" said Mom "it could go in your room, since you found it."

As we were riding home, I put it in a container so, I won't lose it. I kept on holding it. I loved it and it is a perfect Christmas tree for me in my room.

"You would have to water it down every day in order to keep it alive" said Dad. I agreed. I was so happy to have it.

Soon after, after giving lots of water, it became huge after a year. We put decorations of all colors. We even put real presents under the tree.

The Christmas time is here and we need your help to show cheer. Families will come and pick you out of a field of many trees. Once you are picked you are going on a car trip to your new home. They will put you out for all to see. The family will decorate you with ornaments, lights' and so much more. You will be dazzled up for the holiday season. After being decorated, the parents will wrap up gifts for their children and family and put them under you. Then on Christmas morning, the children will open their gifts and be happy with cheer. But when the new year is here, you will be gone and never used again. Soon, you will past and decay somewhere far away. So, enjoy your life now as a young pine tree.

One day I just woke up from a seriously long nap. I did not know where I was and had no clue what was going on with me. I was just sitting there looking at the sunlight. A person came up to me and poured water all over me. As the years went by I was getting bigger and bigger. I was growing and growing and growing. I was so big that one day, some family came up to me and chopped me down. It hurt a little. They roped me down on top of their car. It was like a 3 Hour drive just to get to the place the family was taking me. We finally arrived to the mysterious place. It was the family's house. I stayed on the car top for a few minutes then I was dragged into this beautiful house. It had a ton of windows and a lot of stairs. They set me up in the front windows so everybody in their neighborhood or whoever drove by their house would see me. They ate dinner and they took a very long time to do that. They brought out a big bin and it was filled with ornaments. They started decorating me with ornaments. A lot of them. I was trying to hold all of them on my body for as long as I could. I almost dropped one but I did not and I was so relieved. Then it was the day before Christmas. I fell asleep and when I woke up. There were presents under me. A lot of them to. After all of the kids were done opening presents I fell asleep again. The family took me down and threw me away. I was super sad. I was all alone. Another family found me in the trash and took me as their Christmas tree because I was just thrown into the trash. A new Christmas, A new start. THE END

You are a kind of tree that everyone loves to look at and also smell around Christmas. You may not know what Christmas is but I'm going to tell you. Christmas is a day where almost everyone in the world celebrate and kids get all kinds of gifs and have lots of fun you will one day grow to be a big tree and get to be decorated by your owners you will have lights ornaments and something called a topper you put in on the top of the tree and it is just like a hat but more fancier. You may even see the family pray the reason that they do pray is that because there is this man that is very, very, very important and his name is Jesuses. Young little pine tree you will have a lot of presents under you but that is good. You will also be getting a lot of attention because you will smell amazing and look very fabulous. There will be a lot of joy and you may see a little crying but that is what you call terries of joy. Moms and dads like taking pictures as well

Robert Snell Why do I have to explain Charismas to a little pine tree, what's the point in doing it in the first place. Well I guess I have to. I guess I'll call it piney. Ok Piney Charismas is a Holyday where everyone gets to gather with family and chop down trees like you but when you’re a grown-up tree like those over in the tree farm and then decorate them with shiny ordements and then Santa comes and give all the good boys and girls presents and all bad one coal. After charismas trees like you die and if you're not dead you get troughn out in the dump until you do die and then we humans wait another 365 days till the next charismas and then we repeat the proses.

We held our breath hoping they would not pick us. Soon the humans left the forest we called home. Many of our friends had been chosen, chopped, and dragged away. It happened every year and I had no idea why. They came into our homes and stole our friends and family away from us.

"Travis!" a familiar voice shouted from behind me. "Why do they do this?"

"It is for a holiday the humans celebrate, Christmas. They take trees like us and put us in their homes." She looked at me, "Do not worry, went we are taken we are treated good and they only take those of us who are aged."

I looked at her and then around the forest.

During my morning run, I saw a young pine tree, and took it upon myself to teach it about Christmas. Each morning I would tell the tree more and more about Christmas. I started with what people do during the Christmas season.

"Christmas is a time of year when people come together with their families and have a good time. They open presents from each other and eat immense amounts of food. Everyone loves this time of year, for multiple reasons. Some people get off of work, children get out of school, there are presents to be opened, and it has a chance to snow!"

" Why you talking to a pine tree you weirdo? Can't you not talk to real people. Or you gots no one that will talk to you." Said a smug voice from behind me.

" At least I know how to speak correctly." I replied. His smug smile vanished, and he continued running down the street. The encounter did not hinder me talking to the tree, and I continued this routine until the 24, my last day I would be running until after the holidays. I knew the pine tree would have to know what may happen to him in the future, so I told him. "Some people use pine trees as their way of decorating. This means that when you grow up and are a healthy young tree, you may be chopped down for Christmas. "I was about to stand up, when I heard a quiet, high pitched voice.

" Why will the chop me down, I will be so pretty. "I thought about this for a moment.

" They want you in their house because of how pretty you are. Without a pretty Christmas tree, their house would be bland." I replied.

"Well... they should not need a beautiful Christmas tree like me to make the house pretty. They could just use light and other things."

" Yes, they could, but it is an American tradition." I argue.

"Can you pick me out when I am grown up." The tree asks me quietly.

"Yes, yes I will." I said. Then, I stood up and continued my run.

"Well first of all, Christmas is a time where we celebrate Jesus's birth. People give gifts to each other just like the farmers did to Jesus. Now this is the day that Jesus was born so we celebrate it. Christmas is a happy time of year when people have fun and enjoy their siblings and family." The pine cone tree nodded. He replied back with," why do people not celebrate it, do they just not want gifts." I said," it's not about the gifts and to answer your question, people do not believe in that religion." " What's the point of a mistletoe also because it seams like they just want kiss." I said to his statement," I don’t know that’s a good question. Well do you know your supposed to give your mom and dad for Christmas." The little tree replied back, "no." I said to him," You don’t give them money, you give them the list of all the things you want for Christmas or maybe a little bit of money. Christmas is a happy time and most of the time some people make some good treats to snack on. Oh and you cant forget your stocking. A myth says that Santa Clause comes and puts some presents under a tree that you put up in your house. You would be that tree they put up and fills your stocking. That’s Christmas for you." " Wow that’s cool he said to me."

On the 24th day of December, I ran across a small pine tree sprout while I was walking in the woods.

"Hello. My name is Bart. Nice to meet you, kind sir," he said happily.

"Merry Christmas, Bart," I replied.

Bart gave me a look of confusion. "Christmas? What is this Christmas? Is it a name? I just told you may name was Bart, so why would you...Oh, I get it. It's supposed to be rude. Ok, well, I can be rude too, Mr. Christmas."

I had to hold my breath to stop from laughing. "No, Christmas is a holiday, you know, like Halloween and Thanksgiving."

Bart gave me an incredulous look. "Um, excuse me, but after all, I am a tree. News doesn't travel so fast in this part of the woods. So, tell me, how on earth am I supposed to know about Christmas, or Thanksgiving, or Halloween, for that matter?"

I sighed. Who knew trees could get so sassy, especially the ones that you can snap in half with your foot? "Watch it, little man. I could easily snap you in half with my foot."

Pine needles started falling from Bart's trunk, and he was making an odd quivering noise. Was he crying? "I'm so sorry," he sobbed. "Will you forgive me? I just want to know what Christmas is." He took a deep breath and seemed to recover himself. No more needles were falling.

"Yeah, sure. I'll tell you what Christmas is. It's a time of year-the most wonderful time of the year. It's a season of giving and a time of joy. It's about the birth of Jesus Christ, and everyone cut down pine trees and-" Bart cut me off.

"What?" he bellowed. "They're going to cut me down? They're going to cut my family down?" He looked outraged.

"Don't worry. You have to get bigger, anyways, but it's not like you'll go to waste. People will decorate you and make you look all nice and pretty. Trust me, Christmas is amazing. You'll love it one day."

"Ok," Bart said hesitantly.

What do you need from me?" Sappy responded "I'm here to tell you about Christmas and why it's a good thing." Sappy responded in a scared tone," I don’t like Christmas because they cut down trees for practical use." I responded," Christmas is not a bad thing. I mean you're going to be spending time with real families and making them happy." Sappy responded in a calm tone," I've always wanted to make people happy, but that's beside the point. After their done with me they'll throw me out." "And you'll be turned into something useful for a family." I interrupted. "Wouldn’t that hurt?" Sappy responded puzzled "No, no, no, you're a tree so there's really nothing to worry about, so try to have someone pick you so you can see the reaction of the children when they open their presents." Sappy agreed and he happily waited until the lucky family picked him up. He loved the people he was with and luckily the dad was a wood worker and he made some tables out of Sappy. Sappy now lives happily with a family he loves.

"What is the meaning of Christmas?", he thought. He thought that his friend Wendy, who was the frozen lake the children always skated on, would know. She only came around at this time, so she should know everything.

"Christmas? Why are you asking me? " Wendy asked, surprised, " You should know of all nature. You're a Christmas tree, after all."

"Well, you only come around during Winter, and there are only spruce trees on my side of the forest." Dipper continued.

"Well, in that case, I think it's about fun! There are so many cool things to do! " Wendy exclaimed.

" Like what?" Dipper asked suspiciously. He already knew of a few things liken decorating a tree.

"Skating, of course! What else could there be!"
It was a beautiful winter evening. The snow was falling and the lights from a nearby town were illuminating the trees. In the depth of the forest, there was a family of pine trees. The newest member of their family was wondering why humans were walking around in these weather conditions. Their mother attempted to explain, "Sweetheart, Christmas is a holiday celebrated mostly by Christians. The holiday tradition requires a beautiful Christmas tree that they can decorate with dazzling lights." The tree in which the young pine refers to as "mommy" whispers to the tree which is referred to as "mom", Mommy then speaks up, "When people come across us, they like to chop us down and bring us home." Obviously confused, the young tree asks, "Mommy, mom, wouldn’t we die if we get chopped down?" Both parents are stunned. Their beautiful child is fully aware they die when they get selected as a Christmas tree. Mom speaks up, "Uh-uh um, well when we die, we get presents put under us in the human's home. These presents mean a lot to them. Anyway, you don’t have to worry about that for a long time." Mommy cuts in," Ok I think that’s enough of holiday talk for today. Let's get some rest." The trees finally went to sleep. They had a full day awaiting them.

Free Write December 12/19/17

So young pine Christmas is a holiday of joy, and presents from Santa. So do you think you can handle that? There is one important thing that I need to tell you. "What" says the young pine tree. I say " well... you don’t lose your needles, so the other trees will make fun of you." The pine tree says "How come?" Well I think it is because they think their leaves falling off makes them more impressive to others. Later that day the young pine tree talks to his mom who is mountainous. "Mother what does Christmas really mean?" He says. His Mother says " Honey Christmas is about your family and all the holiday cheer, here let me show you with a song. Let me tell you some thing Christmas, Christmas, Christmas is not about presents or even you it is about you're family, so that is Christmas for you.
