Nowadays, people celebrate special events differently compared to the past in many aspects. In the past, celebrations were often simple, family-oriented, and focused on traditional values. Today, with the development of technology, many events have become more modern and larger in scale, often involving social media and a variety of entertainment. For example in Tet, giving lucky money has now been replaced by bank transfers.

In the past maybe everything wasn't as diverse as it is now but they still joy in it and that events may take for a week or a month. Not like today, with the pressure of jobs and making money, many people has choice to work even there is a celebrate special events at their hometown or at the place they live but that just a little number, the left still enjoy events with full of honor

Now, they're more open to adapting traditions, even incorporating Western dishes. This is likely due to globalization and people's increasing wealth. As a result, family gatherings are becoming more relaxed, with less effort required to prepare food. Some young people also use this time to travel. ♥️🫰🏻

However, nowadays, people don’t seem to enjoy special events as much due to the influence of technology and increasingly busy lifestyles. Many special events have become more focused on taking photos for social media rather than truly experiencing the moment. In contrast, in the past, even though people didn’t have as much financial wealth, they valued the spirit of the occasion more. Gatherings friends and families were often simpler but filled with warmth, genuine connections, and meaningful traditions. People spent quality time with loved ones rather than being distracted by digital devices.

In contrast, now there are more foreign festivals that many family and young people also celebrate as their own festivals, such as Valentine, Christmas, New Year

In the past, celebrations were simple and focused on family and traditions. People usually had small gatherings at home, sent paper invitations, and gave handmade gifts. Music and entertainment were traditional, with family members singing or playing instruments.

Today, celebrations are much bigger and more modern. People use social media to send invitations and share moments instantly. Events often take place in hotels or even in other countries. Gifts are now more expensive, like branded items or travel experiences. Entertainment has also changed—many parties have DJs, live bands, and professional event planners.

Overall, celebrations have become more exciting and high-tech, but the main purpose remains the same: bringing people together and creating happy memories.

Well, from my point of view, there are many differences of celebrating special festivals in present and in the past. In the past, specifically Tet holiday, there was no smartphone or television, so the children would go out to play with their friends in the alley and adults will sit together to eat or drink and tell about the time during the past 1 year. And now everything has changed, everyone uses the phone to talk instead of gathering together as in the past. Children see the phone, the child is not out in the house. Although Tet today retains the cultural identity, it was not happy as before.
