One example Mona had perseverance in was trying to climb over the wall at the police academy. Mona could have easily quit and went back to her old life with Frank. Mona did not end up quitting but continued and thrived to become a cop.

Mona never had an excuse for not being there for her kids and was never hateful towards them even when she was dealing with abuse and training with the police department.
