<description>A political advocacy specialist, Sean Tenner prepared for his career by earning a bachelor of arts in American government from Georgetown University, where he graduated cum laude in 1998. After spending a year working as a researcher for People for the American Way, Sean Tenner began to work directly with Democratic members of the Illinois House of Representatives, developing coalition-building, press, and community outreach solutions.

From 2001 to 2007, Mr. Tenner worked as a senior consultant at M+R Strategic Services, where he focused on advancing the agendas of human rights, environmental, and public health organizations and leading U.S. foundations. Among his accomplishments in the position, he helped develop the national grassroots advocacy program for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, helped to secure millions in funding for breast cancer screenings across the nation, and helped pass legislation making screenings more accessible for uninsured and low-income women.

In 2007, Mr. Tenner worked with Equality Illinois and now Illinois House Majority Leader Greg Harris on LGBT equality issues. In 2008, he served on staff with the Obama for America presidential campaign as the director of the Illinois to Iowa Program. Since 2008, he has headed KNI Communications, where he serves as president. At KNI Communications, he furnishes advocacy solutions for nonprofit organizations, businesses, foundations, and electoral campaigns.
