In Maths, I got a 57/58 on my midterm test, and have not yet recieved the results for my end of term, a 5- on my Term 1 report, where it was capped at a 5. We have done Units 1, 2, and 3 of the GCSE curriculum in my class, and assessments for Units 1 and 2. Every unit, we learn about algebra, shapes and space, graphs, and sometimes handling data.

English

In English, we have done The Christmas Carol, with in-depth analysis of the text. For the mid-term assessment, we did comparative analysis between Scrooge and Fezziwig,in which I got an S+ grade, and for the end of term we analysed Scrooge's change across the novella and how it presents the authour's views, in which I got an M. In my report I got an M. My targets are to work at an M level in language analysis and context inclusion. In class, we are working towards this by writing an essay focusing on Bob Cratchit from the Christmas Carol, where the whole class is working towards that goal.

Oliver Musical

So far, I have done the Oliver! Musical, a musical based off of Oliver Twist, where I am part of the ensemble. I have done Choreography and Vocal work for several songs, and have worked hard each rehearsal time to practice them.

Science

In Science, I got a 49/51 on my midterm test, and I'm going to be doing my end of term test on the 9th. On my report I got a 5, where it was capped at a 6. So far, we have done 2 units of Chemistry, working on a range of topics based off of the periodic table and the development and organisation of it. 1 unit of Biology, where we have studied cells, their adaptations, and transfer methods like diffusion, osmosis, and active transport. 1 unit of Physics, where we learned about energy stores, transfers, and systems.

Community Service

According to the middle school award, I have written a report for the community service section explaining how I participated in a bake sale to raise money to donate to the Al Jalila Foundation.

Reading

I have also written a report for reading, explaining how activities we did in Academic Enrichment helped with my understanding of the reading portion of the MSA.

NGRT

In order to improve my reading, we have gotten feedback based off of our NGRT scores to improve our reading and get a better score on our next NGRT. My overall score is 9 and my sentence completion is 8, my reading comprehension was 9.

Sustainable Design

In sustainable design, we have focused on multiple aspects of sustainability, including how to implement sustainable systems in our school, sustainable clothing and fast fashion, and social entrepeneurs. In these topics, we have created presentations and reports, in groups and alone. I got an S+ on my report.

ATL

In my report card, I have gotten an ATL of 1 in the majority of my classes and a minimum of 2 in the others.

Geography

In Geography, I got an M on my report, we have learned about tectonic hazards and what can influence their impact on the area. We have begun learning about global superpowers and the influence of different factors in the contribution to becoming one.

History

In History, we were learning about World War 1, and the factors, impacts, soldiers of the empire, and life in trenches. I have written an essay about the Titanic as an introductory task then written inferences about propaganda from the time of World War 1. I have recently taken a test in World War 1 which displayed my capabilities when it comes to PEEL (Point, Evidence, Explain, Link) paragraphs in a historical context and my ability in writing detailed inferences about different sources to look at different viewpoints. I have not gotten back my results, however, I have recieved an S+ in my report card.

Arabic

In Arabic, we have first done analysis on a text called "العباءة", looking at different techniques the authour used throughout it. We have also looked at التشبيه, which is a language technique that we developed our skills in using, understanding, and differentiating it. Additionally, we have done some listening text comprehension, and we will develop our speaking skills soon. In my report card, I have gotten an S+.

Sustainability

By coming up with new sustainable innovations and contributing to making them more realistic and linking them to the UNSDGs, I have displayed the key components that contribute to the sustainability section in the middle school award.
