Speaker: In the lyrics, the speaker is an man that isn't named. All we know about him is that he had just finished his time in the military. He had found a "classified" ad about a corvette that was being sold.
Occasion: One of the two writers of the song had said that he got the inspiration from a story that he had read on a website about an old '66 corvette.
Audience: It was geared towards people in the military and those who had loved ones in the military or those who have died in action.
Purpose: The purpose, Newton, one of the writers said, was to bring recognition to the "spirit and bravery to American veterans"
Subject: A fallen solider had owned his dream car that another solider, in the future, had came to buy. Going toward the end of the song, the lyrics indicate that the solider that has passed saved the one that had gotten into a car accident.
Tone: The tone of the lyrics is sad and also mystical. It tells a fictional story about the ghost of a fallen solider and how he saves the life of another veteran.

         These lyrics are meant to be a reminder to those that we have lost in the past and present. There's a remembrance of others that they're trying to bring into the lyrics with the sadness that other people can feel. 

But for every dream that's shattered
Another one comes true
          It speaks to the bitter sweetness he's feeling because someone had to die for his dream to come true. The car had been dreams of both people but only one of them could live to enjoy what they both had wanted.

       He was re-telling what Private Malone had wrote in the note he found earlier. He's reading directly from the note that was written all those years ago.

Tone: The video seems joyful with David getting the car and fixing it up.
