Humans used these techniques thousands years ago. Although, the general theory behind hydroponics remains the same, modern technology enabled us to grow plants faster, stronger, and healthier. Although hydroponic production has its benefits, it is not a care free system. Even if the nutritional and environmental demands of a plant are met, problems will occur without fail. It can be noted that most, if not all, of these issues are preventable with the proper care and management.
