Due to higher temperatures in the afternoon, please be sure you do not leave your classroom until 1:25 pm for the buses and parent pick up. Parents do not have to arrive until 1:30pm. Arriving earlier forces some students to wait in the heat and others to sit on unairconditioned buses while waiting. The only exception are our students who take substantial time to load due to using a wheelchair or mobility device. 

If all of your students have not arrived by 8:30am, please be sure to leave a staff member at the bus area until 8:40 am OR until all buses have arrived, whichever is later. Please notify an admin of any students who have not arrived BEFORE leaving the bus area at 8:40am to ensure they wait for them and can check for an absence.

There is a swarm of bees between the 500 and 400 buildings. Please stay away from that courtyard if you are walking around campus. This is not our primary courtyard, but the next one over. Be aware if you are taking students for walks or looking for other areas to work/take breaks.

• Please ensure you have done an emergency drill with your class. 

• If all of your students have not arrived by 8:30am, please be sure to leave a staff member with the names of the missing students at the bus area until 8:40 am OR until all buses have arrived, whichever is later. Please have staff notify an admin of any students who have not arrived before they return to the classroom at 8:40am to ensure they wait for them.

• Please be sure you do not leave your classroom until 1:25 pm for the buses. Some of the buses arrive earlier than that, but will be too warm for students to wait on.

• Please remember to be outside by 8:30 to pick up students daily.

• Please use the email esyabsences@smusd.org to report absences in advance and Frontline for last minute absences. This will help us to find coverage for absences in advance.

Elementary:

• Signs will be posted outside the entrance onto the gates. When staff go to retrieve their students, please stand in your classroom designated area for parents to find you easier. 

Secondary:

• If you are going off campus, you MUST notify the office upon departure and return. Please contact Sylvia directly at 2439 as she is tracking all classes.

• If you have a student who is leaving early, the parent MUST come to the office to sign the student out. Parents should not be collecting students from the classroom. The office will call for the student. This ensures transportation is notified and we are aware of where students are. 

• Please ensure you see students collected by the parent or getting on the bus before you leave.

Teachers, please remind staff this morning they also need to check the Padlet for announcements and updates. It is not just for teachers.

Please be sure to sign in and out at the ACTUAL TIME you arrive and leave. DO NOT prefill your sign in sheets.

Please be sure to review the timesheet policies and procedures. Several people have already submitted timesheets for days that have not happened yet or not selected the correct rec number as described in the Payroll section on the Padlet. Please note: If you do this, it will substantially delay your payment as it will need to be corrected or verified. You CANNOT submit timesheets for future dates or times. Do not submit timesheets until the end of your final shift for that pay period.
