You have to save your workbooks in order to access them later on. You can save workbooks to your desktop, but with Excel 2013 you can now save them to the cloud using OneDrive. The cloud allows you to share and export other documents within Excel. The first time you save a file, you SAVE AS. When you save as, you copy the file, choose where you want the file to be stored, and name the file. When you SAVE a file, your progress is updated in the file that you first “saved as”. You use save more frequently than you use save as. 

We also learned about the DEFAULT SAVE LOCATION. This is where files are saved to unless you “save as”. The default save location in Excel is OneDrive, however you can change this setting. AUTORECOVER is a way to get your work back in the event that you forget to save or if Excel crashes. I also learned that when you EXPORT a file, you change how the file is stored. For example you can change the document’s file type from .xlxs to PDF. Finally, in this lesson I learned that when you SHARE a file using OneDrive, you can collaborate and edit a workbook with another contributor without creating multiple files, which can be difficult to organize. 



            In this FLASS lesson we learned about cell basics. CELLS are the basic building blocks of a worksheet. A cell is the intersection of a row and a column. CELL CONTENT is the information entered into the cell. The CELL ADDRESS is the cells name based on its column and row. You can also select multiple cells. A group of cells is called a CELL RANGE. Cells can contain information such as text, formatting, formulas, and functions. 

You can delete a cell using the DELETE button on the ribbon. However, when you delete a cell all the contents from the cells below is shifted up. You can also COPY information from cells into other cells by PASTING the copied information into the new cell. The new cell will now contain the same information as the previous (copied cell). You can also use the FILL HANDLE to copy and paste data into adjacent cells quickly. Finally, you can use the FIND button on the ribbon to find text in a workbook. This tool is useful when working with a lot of data.
