         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>What is arsenic and where is it located on the Periodic Table?<br>     </strong>Arsenic has an atomic number of 33, making it an element with 33 protons in a given atom. This element can be found between germanium and selenium. <br><strong>What is the atomic mass of Arsenic?<br>     </strong>Arsenic has an atomic mass of 75, 74.922 to be exact. This indicates that this element has 42 neutrons in addition to the initial 33 protons. While electrons make up a small portion of an elements mass, it is worth noting that in a near trap arsenic atom, both protons and electrons are equal in quantity. <br><strong>When forming an ion, is arsenic considered an anion or a cation?<br>     </strong>Arsenic forms an anion, the opposite of a cation. An arsenic ion is negatively charged, having an overall charge of 3-. This occurs when 3 electrons are removed from the outer shell of an atom to complete its octet. An acceptable equation for this would be <strong>As + 3e</strong><strong><sup>-</sup></strong><strong> —&gt; As</strong><strong><sup>3-</sup></strong><strong>.<br>What family does arsenic belong to?<br>     </strong>Arsenic is a non-metal that belongs to the nitrogen family in period 4. As arsenic is not a metal, it is grouped with a family that is primarily composed of soft solids and gas. <br><strong>What is Arsenic?</strong> <br>     Arsenic is considered a metalloid, it’s true form being a pure elemental crystal. A metalloid is between metal and non-metal. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>     Arsenic has a history dating back to when the ancient Egyptians roamed the earth. Beginning from that era, arsenic was used for the sole purpose of gilding metals. Gilding is the process of covering an object with gold, but it could also be giving an object the appearance of being gold. <br>     Beyond a millennia later, arsenic was noted to display signs of toxicity, however that toxicity enabled the arsenic to be used as a pesticide . Now, arsenic is infamous for being a known toxin. Not only was it capable of being used as a pesticide against bugs, but it is also toxic to humans when ingested.<br><br><strong>Origin of the name Arsenic<br><br>     </strong>The origins of the name arsenic date back to 1250 after Albertus Magnus had discovered it. The name arsenic was given to the element, the name stemming from a Persian word for opriment. The Persian word, Zarnikh, originates from the word potent which greatly describes this element.</div>]]></description>

         <title>How strong Arsenic is as an element </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>     Arsenic has a density of 5.776 grams per cubic centimeter. In comparison to elements found at the very beginning of the periodic table, arsenic is very dense. <br>     Arsenic has the ability to phase at room temperature while remaining solid. This element has a melting point of 1,502.6 degrees Fahrenheit which is equal to 817 degrees Celsius. However, despite how high the melting point is. Arsenic has a boiling point of 1,117.4 degrees Fahrenheit which is lower than the melting point. </div>]]></description>

However, that isn’t to say arsenic can’t be synthetic either. Arsenic can occur naturally in nature, as well as be created artificially. While natural arsenic vary in toxicity, synthetic arsenic is much more potent. </div>]]></description>
