Independent Decision Making

"Individual decision making saves time and energy as individuals make prompt and logical decisions generally.....In addition, an individual generally makes prompt decisions.....individual decisions can be good because individuals do not escape responsibilities. They are accountable for their acts and performance. While in a group, it is not easy to hold any one person accountable for a wrong decision."(6) Those are the pros of individual decision making. I like individual decision making because it puts the responsibility on me, and only me.

Collaboritive Decision Making

"When a group gets together to make a decision, it has potential of collecting more and full information.....Collaborative decision making involves many members, many views and many approaches and hence better decision making. Research shows that the brain is not as developed during the teenage years as it is in adulthood. Collaborative decision making can help teenagers to make good decisions."(6) These are the pros of collaborative decision making. I tend not to like this as much, mainly because I will want to put the responsibility on other people, even if it is a decision I have to make, I will let other people make it.

A very important decision

I think I will talk a lot about my past experiences with competitive tennis. The final decision had to be made by me, and the previous time we came close to quitting, I let my dad make the decision to keep going. I had to take responsibility and make a independent decision. I decided not to include my dad in the decision because that didn't work very well the first time. We either could have decided to keep playing competitive tennis, continued with it but only casually, or stop altogether.
