I think the installation of the new currency was kind of important. There was a really extreme case of hyper inflation and thus really impacts the economy to a very great extent. This caused the people to be very discouraged and dejected. Wanting to give Up in both the government and the currency. The new currency was like a second chance. This gave the people a new chance and opportunity. A new hope and faith that they can cling onto. This will encourage them and boost them forward into a new future where they can live better lives. This new currency will be something that impacts everyone in many ways. People are spending money everyday and thus the introduction of a new currency will surely impact everyone greatly. This is what saved the country and gave everyone a means to look forward and solve the other pending problems.

1) introduced a new currency.
Hyperinflation was rampant in Germany. Hyperinflation causes disastrous effects on the economy. Most citizens would not even be able to buy food or essentials due to the rapidly rising prices. It results in even the mere act of going to work costing more than one makes. The economy cannot sustain itself without a stable currency. This is because as companies see the rising cost of their operation they begin to lay off workers, which in turn makes them spend less to save, then companies earn less money and it results in a loop. To stop the loop the government prints more money however that just devalues the currency adding to the issue. Hence by introducing a new currency and making the people trust the new currency the economy is restored which at least gives Germany a chance to recover.

Contribution 4. It was the most vital in my opinion as it was the greatest downfall Germany was facing at the time, it desperately needed and influx of money in order to solve the crisis they were in. It ties in with the other contributions including the Ruhr crisis and the introduction of the new currency, these would not have been possible if not from the immediate loans taken from USA which by far made the changes to the economy successful. Other contributions including the strengthening of diplomatic relations while they helped to ensure future cooperation, it was not as pressing as the need to solve the economy in Germany. He managed to convince the USA to loan a large sum of money which enabled Germany to start up production of goods again in order to stabilise the economy which allowed the introduction of a new currency which did not suffer from hyper inflation.

It was even used as fuel as actual fuel would be more expensive

I think that changing the currency was the most vital as it was the foundation of the economy improving. When Germany was suffering from the Ruhr crisis and changing the currency not only improved the economy but also made Germany more valuable, since their currency has actual value in it. Something like borrowing money from USA would help Germany a lot, but it is still just a short term solution. Even if they paid all the reparation fees, because of how low value their currency was, it would just land them in another debt. Both the Dawes and Young plan would be useless unless Germany’s currency had value. Lastly, for Germany even to be a valuable investment of time, it’s economy needs to be stable first. Thus, all the pacts are not useful unless Germany even has value. Thus, changing the currency which led to a better economy is the most important.

As the hyperinflation continue to grow, money become worthless and many found that there is no point in working.Employers also had to fire many due to the high cost prices, leading the rate of unemployment to increase drastically too. This eventually caused Germany to be on the verge of collapse. Thus, with the new currency,Rentenmark, Germans could at least survive and continue to be productive for the country to continue to sustain.

If not solved, it would lead to alot of problems. People would not be able to afford daily nessessities like food and water. If this hyperinflation is not solved, even borrowing money from the US would not be able to resolve the issue If hyper inflation continues hence I feel that changing the currency is the most important and vital first step to getting the country into order.

This is because as they continued to print money, the value of the mark went down, causing inflation and eventually hyperinflation where 1 loaf of bread went from 2 marks to about 2.5 million marks in the span of a few months , as Stresemann introduced a new currency Reichsmark, It allowed more foreign investment and allowed more new machinery and new buildings, giving the Germans more job opportunities as a result allow employment rates to increase and eventually the economy recovered.

Without violence, and immense tension between Germany and other countries, the chances of an economic or physical war breaking out is less. They will tend not to threaten one another this leading to less disagreements. The opposing party will also be less cruel to the Germany in terms of punishment. Treaties will be less harsh and countries becoming allies are rather possible as well.

I'd say that 5 and 6 were the most crucial, given that Germany lost their international standing and trust of other countries, which meant that they had no one to depend on for help during the crisis they were facing. By signing the treaty, it helps to build trust and connections, whilst assuring other countries that Germany is no longer an aggressor and is changing its ways. I believe that this largely contributed to the reason why USA finally decided to loan some money to Germany to stabilise their economy, which helped solve a decent number of issues such as unemployment. The loan may have also been more useful in stabilising the economy as compared to changing the currency, as the sum loaned was large

I think the most vital contribution from Stresemann was changing the currency of Germany (Marks to Rentenmark). After the First World War, Germany was very weak, rife with problems such as poverty and high unemployment, making its economy extremely fragile. The reparation payments from the Treaty of Versailles made things worst, hence the government kept printing more money to keep up with the payments. The more money that was printed, the greater its decrease in value. Prices spiralled out of control and hyperinflation was a result. Everything came at a ridiculously high cost. Hyperinflation thus made the Weimar Government lose support of its people. Thankfully, Stresemann resolved the hyperinflation issue by replacing the old, worthless money (Marks) with a new currency (Rentenmark).

I feel that borrowing money from USA was the most vital contribution by Stresemann for Germany. USA aided Germany by lending them 800m gold marks. This allowed Germany to gain short term advantages; end hyperinflation and pay reparations. The total amount of reparations were reduced, and Germany was given a more flexible time schedule for repayment, as it was prolonged. This greatly improved Germany's economy at the time and allowed it to grow; (they were not completely defeated yet). This also then led to WW2 and was a huge advantage for Germany, hence I believe that Stresemann borrowing money from USA was the most vital contribution for Germany.

Respect to borders. I feel that respect to border played a vital role in improving the relationship between Germany and other countries such as France and Belgium. Germany used such methods to reassure other countries that they would not resort to violence and settle future disputes through the League of Nations.

I think introducing a new currency is the most vital. Germany has been suffering from hyperinflation as the Weimar printed more money in response to the Ruhr Crisis and to pay its debt. Many Germans lost their jobs and their savings were wiped out, sending Germany into dire straits. By introducing the Retenmark and getting rid of the old currency, the German economy stabilised and recovered. More Germans could attain a higher standard of living which greatly reduced the adverse social impact brought by hyperinflation. It also restored people's confidence in democracy. To me, this is the most important factor that brought Germany out of economic chaos

I feel that the borrowing of money from the USA, as well as the increased loan period and lowered reparation costs were the most impactful of his contributions, as the country would be unable to progress without accepting the TOV. If they were to continue rejecting the terms, the diplomatic relations between France/Britain and Germany would suffer. Furthermore, Germany's economy would continue to suffer as money would be prioritised for the reparations.

By introducing the new currency, the Retenmark, hyperinflation had been solved and reperations were paid. Foreign business were then willing to invest in Germany and new factories, machinery and buildings were able to be constructed. As a result, employment rose. This contribution helped to stabilise the country’s currency.
