         <description><![CDATA[<div>This Gizmo could be used to review erosion.  Students can investigate how floods and vegetation affect the rate of erosion.  Also, if they choose long term erosion it helps them to understand that erosion occurs over tens of thousands of years.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think mixing, matching or adapting to our particular needs pieces of all these resources is a great way to give students that extra practice they need to become more confident with the standards learned.<br><br>I see myself using some of these resources for lessons and also for assessments.&nbsp;<br><br>Last but not least, since students need so much practice, just changing a little bit the look of some of the projects/ questions that have already been created can provide that extra practice and students will feel it's new stuff.</div>]]></description>

I like that its giving my students a hands on experience and letting them be in charge of their learning experience. For the 5th grade pacing map I like that it matches up standards along with mystery science and has assessments, along with the I can statement so that you can see what all needs to go together</div>]]></description>

         <title>RISE Training Tests </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The RISE Training Tests are so helpful for students learning how to take the RISE tests. There are so many different steps that students must do in order to complete one science question on the RISE. Letting them have time to practice and work with you before the test helps students go into the test much more confident.&nbsp;<br>I like to begin whole group and as the students learn how to make their way through the training tests, I let them practice on their own. It always surprises me to see how much time students need to really think through one science question on the RISE test. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the 5th grade Curriculum pacing map they have a Mystery Science lesson called Web of Life.<br>You can get a free account with them for 1 year. Our school purchased it for us. This breaks down how each step of plants producing energy and that energy cycles through until it becomes matter again.<br>5.3.2 <strong>Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information</strong> that animals obtain energy and matter from the food they eat for body repair, growth, and motion and to maintain body warmth. Emphasize that the energy used by animals was once energy from the Sun. Cellular respiration will be taught in Grades 6 through 8. (PS3.D, LS1.C)</div>]]></description>
