He married Laura Spelman, a teacher and daughter of an active abolitionist, in 1864. The pair would have four daughters and one son. Although wishing to reach the age of 100, Rockefeller died at the age of 97 in Florida, one of his many homes. Since the iron and steel companies were booming, the railroads couldn't be anything without the same "boom" of oil, and Standard Oil (co-founded by Rockefeller) did that!
