Mexico and Columbia are two countries that have a lot of people trying to immigrate to America. Mexico and Columbia are also the leading producers in illegal drugs. Not only that, those same countries have a high percentage of crime. According to recovery village, 23.9 million Americans suffer from drug addiction. Think about your child coming home high and he or she cannot think straight. You are probably so mad at him or her. One of the first questions that you will think about is where did he or she get it from. The most likely answer is Mexico or Columbia. According to Procon.org, those two countries are the leading producers in drugs. Yes, somebody probably sold those drugs to them and they probably brought it from someone else, but it keeps going on and on and it started from someone coming in to the U.S. illegally and selling them. If you were or are against my thoughts, you are probably thinking about the good people that want to come here.  To clarify, I do know that there are many people who want to come here for good reasons, but we can't just let everyone in easily. Yes, we should let the good ones in, but we need to enforce better procedures to stop the people who are going to commit crimes. I know that building a wall would be too expensive, but, we can put more cops around the border. One thing that I don't think is right is that, according to the Wall street Journal, we have military border patrol in Afghanistan but not here. Our country is our home. We can't let bad people into our homes and destroy it. According to CBS, about 22% of people in federal prison in America are not citizens of the United States. If that percentage does not sound high, think about it as more than 1 in 5 people in jail are not citizens of the United States. Also CBS claims that number of non-citizen jail-mates has gone up by 1.8 million. This relates to the number of illegal immigrants coming to the U.S. There are more non-citizen jail-mates in America than any other country. They also have studies that show the most common crimes that these people commit. Those are drug dealing, rape, robbery, and fraud. If we have stopped this before they came here, there would be 22% less crimes.
