Didion had, especially with "magical thinking." Didion's experience shows us that it is essential for us to accept reality rather than be a denier because denying the truth may have profound and unhealthy consequences. In this fashion, this artifact depicts an open door that leads away from a room of darkness to one that is bright and open. The door serves as an analogy to what dreams can possibly allow people to experience, a glimpse into the afterlife and into seeing their lost beloved ones again.
