SWBAT: Measure angles in whole-number degrees using a protractor. 

Materials: 

• Protractors

• Rulers

• Pencils

• Paper

• Angle worksheets (for practice)

  Lesson Outline:

  1. Introduction to Angles (10 minutes)

     • Define what an angle is.

     • Discuss the different types of angles (acute, obtuse, right).

     • Explain the importance of measuring angles accurately.

  2. Demonstration (15 minutes)

     • Show how to use a protractor:

       • Place the midpoint of the protractor at the vertex of the angle.

       • Align one side of the angle with the zero line of the protractor.

       • Read the degree measure where the other side intersects the number scale.

     • Demonstrate measuring a couple of angles as a class.
