Communication is boosting the levels of Self- esteem and emotional bonds between family.According to South Eastern CASA, " Self- esteem is the way people feel about themselves. " Your true self- esteem is developed in your childhood in the way you are treated by people in your everyday life. " According to South Eastern CASA, Communication is the main key into developing a stronger self-esteem, as you are able to express the way you feel to other ." Holding back your feelings and expression to family and friends around you could cause you to lack the emotional bond between you and them. The bond is continually being destroyed because they don't know how to physically and mentally help you when you lack communication. "According to South Eastern CASA, Communicating between friends and family members allow your stress, anger, and any other emotion levels to be reduces as you are able to talk about them and find way to get over the lump in your life." Overall having a strong communication bond between your families and friends allows you to develop a better bond between each other as you feel you are able to trust one another. This topic relates a lot to Romeo and Juliet because they had a lack of communication between them and their parents. Romeo and Juliet's parent's did not see eye to eye on the relationship. This caused communications problems as Juliet was not able to communicate to her mom on how she felt. Juliet had a hard time communicating to her mom since Juliet couldn't connect/ trust her. Juliet had to start talking to someone about all her emotional issues and that was when she started talking to nurse. Nurse and Juliet had a strong emotional bond where they talked and shared stories about the relationship. Romeo felt the same with his parents as they felt he fell in love at too young of an age to quick. Romeo felt he couldn't talk to his parents about his relationship or ask questions because they didn't like how fast the relationship was growing. Romeo needed someone to talk which is why he had a emotional bond with Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence and Romeo talked to each other about everything and Romeo felt as if he had someone to trust. Overall having a strong emotional bond and a strong communication between the family helps to develop your self-esteem as you are able to express your feeling and emotions to someone else.

Behavioral Problems

Lack of communication with their parents can lead to children having behavioral problems. K. Nola Mokeyane, who has written professionally since 2006, states, "A child who cannot communicate might start building boundaries between them and other people." Nola also says, "They can easily become frustrated knowing that they cannot express how they are feeling". This can lead to them releasing all the built up emotions in toxic ways. Children may have behavioral problems as that is the only way they can let go of their emotions (Nola). They might also show behavioral problems because it is the only way they can get attention from their parents. This relates to Romeo and Juliet because we could see how some of their actions and behaviors may have been influenced by the lack of communication. Romeo and Juliet were not open with their parents about their relationship, which led to them having to sneak around and get married behind their parents back. We saw another example when Juliet's father told her that she was going to be getting married to Paris. The only way the family communicated through this situation was yelling and crying. This is the only time in the movie where we saw Juliet talking to her parents about a significant topic and we could clearly see that they have never established a good relationship where they can talk through problems. If Juliet and her parents had communicated more as she grew up, they might have been more accepting of her and Romeo's relationship. Right now all they know is that they don't get along with the Montegues so they don't even take into consideration Juliet's feelings. An open communication within the family would've made it easier for Juliet to tell her parents how she feels and they could've talked through their different opions rather than just yelling. Juliet's lack of a real relationship with her parents led to other bad behaviors. Juliet was not afraid to leave her family completely in order to run off and be with Romeo. Someone who has a good relationship with their parents would not want to leave them without a second thought. Juliet went to exteme measures to be with Romeo and didn't have a family who cared enough about her to keep her from making choices that led to her death. http://living.thebump.com/effects-lack-communication-between-parent-child-17771.html

Leading cause to conflicts in relationships all start out with the lack of communication. According to Stress Management 4 Women, "Good communication helps disseminate information accurately, and it is an effective tool for building understanding between and among people ." When you are trying to communicate with someone think about the point you are trying to get across, and make sure you use expression so they fully get what you are saying. " According to Stress Management 4 Women , Not only is getting your information across to one another important, but being respectful of everyone's opinion is very important. " Communication is very important and people often have different point of views. According to Stress Management 4 women, "Communication allows people to share their opinion and establish a common ground of understanding." To go along with Respecting everyone's opinion, you need to listen carefully as they are explaining their thought. Many communication problems all stem out from not listening carefully to what that person is saying. Finally, communication conflicts can start from not expressing your self enough so people can understand you, not explaining, not listening, and only excepting your opinion. This topic of conflicts arising in relationships relates back to Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet weren't the best at explaining how they felt in their relationships and they way their families felt about the relationship. They both kept their families thought to themselves. Conflicts then began to arise between the two as they would go behind their parents back with the relationship. One example is when Romeo and Juliet got married. Romeo and Juliet both new it was wrong, but didn't feel the need to communicate it to eachother. They just wanted to continue to grow their relationship, as they thought this was their true love. Not only did Romeo and Juliet lack communication bewteen each other, but they also lacked communication between their parents. Romeo and Juliet hated to talk to their parents because their parents were trying to explain what their young love was. Romeo and Juliet didn't except anything that their parents said Instead they turned away from their parents, as they thought they knew what was best for them. Romeo and Juliet were only going to accept what they thought was right. This was when the conflicts began to rise in the families and lead Romeo and Juliet to only having one person to talk to, which was, Nurse, and Friar Lawrence. If Romeo and Juliet would have accepted their parents opinions they would have a better bond with their parents, and they wouldn't have ended up killing themselves in the end. Finally Romeo and Juliet had a huge lack of communication in their relationship with lead them to death. This subject ties to society today because conflicts began to arise in relationships as they lack communication between each other. People in relationships don't always tell their partner the full story which is why the conflicts start. In conclusion, the main cause of arguments in relations stem from the lack of communication. The better the communication the better connection

Zhiwen Xiao of Psychology, Health & Medicine conducted a study to see how communication between children and their parents can affect a child's psychosocial adjustment. The study showed that youth demonstrated poorer psychosocial adjustnent if they percieved a lower level of open communication between them and their parents (Xiao). This shows that communication in families is important to child development and can affect how they handle social situations. "When children don't know the proper way to act they may begin to communicate their thoughts in improper ways such as acting out." Says Xiao. These poor behaviors may even carry over into school and other social situations because the child knows no other way to communicate to get what they want. If a child is brought up in a family with good communication, the child would have learned good ways to communicate and get their ideas across. In todays society we can typically see when a child is living in a family with poor commuication because of the way they act. You'll often see them doing things behind their parents back because they never build a respect for their parents. They may also act in unusual ways to get attention from people, since they don't get enough at home (Xiao). Children who have been raised with poor family communication most likely never learned how to properly interact with people in different social settings, so they express their thoughts and ideas in different ways than others. In Romeo and Juliet, poor communication leads to many misunderstandings. Juliet had not grown up with a lot of communication between her and her parents, but she was lucky enough to have Nurse who she was able to talk to about anything. Since Juliet did have Nurse to talk to as she was growing up, Juliet was able to communicate in social settings pretty much just like everyone else. However, the lack of communication with her parents did affect how she got her ideas across to her parents. It also lead to Juliet going behind her parents backs to be with Romeo, since she would rather do that then explain her relationship to her parents. One example of misconception due to a lack of communication happens when Juliet is in her room grieving the loss of Romeo. Lady Capulet believes that Juliet is crying because her cousin, Tybalt, died, since Juliet had never told her about her marriage to Romeo. Another complication arose from Juliet not telling her parents about the marriage was that she then couldn't tell them why she wouldn't marry Paris. Since Juliet was raised with little communication with her parents, she could not open up to them very well when she needed to and this caused confusion and misunderstanding. Juliet was lucky enough to have Nurse throughout her life so she could communicate in social settings properly. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/13548506.2010.521563
