What is your take on using the word “creative’ as an adjective rather than using the word “creativity” as a noun?

I think both are useful in the right context. "The main difference between creativity and innovation (creative) is the focus. Creativity is about unleashing the potential of the mind to conceive new ideas. Those concepts could manifest themselves in any number of ways, but most often, they become something we can see, hear, smell, touch, or taste" (Business Insider 2013).

How is my conception of creativity changing?

My original definition of creativity is always changing but in this course, I'm finding I'm taking more of a scientific approach rather than a practical one. Often times my definition of creativity fits in with learning (because education is my work and passion) and also for growth (how I use and identify with creativity. I'm finding as we move along I'm thinking about the psychological factors that could influence each students creativity. The extenuating factors of the impact of creativity such as family, socioeconomic factors, a students parents, etc.

Describe Piaget’s theory as it relates to creativity

Piaget's theory discusses how one, whether it is creative problem solving or adaptation, individualizes their response based on, "the judgment of its being socially appropriate or not" (p. 43). Piaget specifically relates to the lack of creativity or creative growth process with conformity. According to Piaget, children masters skills and gain knowledge through play; the mastery of one skill leading to the movement towards mastery of another skill, which leads to the development of new kind of play to meet the needs of more advanced skills and knowledge (Frost, 1992).

With the 11 characteristics, I think that the idea of "pull towards conformity" or an "idea about societal standards" might be another question vein that could help determine one's ability to remain or explore a more creative space.

My scores from the RDCA didn't surprise me, I scored in the top percentile in originality, resistance to premature closure, flexibility and intrinsic motivation. My overall score put me in the "Moderately High" area for creativity. My lowest score was on elaboration. This didn't surprise me as well. I'm a person that usually have their brain going fast than they can actually articulate.
