a wet market is a term that is used to distinguish between the traditional market and our modern day supermarkets. the wet market is a marketplace that sells fresh foods such as meat, fish, produce and other consumption-oriented perishable goods straight from the suppliers for a cheaper and “bargainable” price and they are often fresher than supermarkets

-my first time going to a wet market
-it was a day before Chinese New Year
-went with my grandmother (nainai)
-she planned on getting ingredients for our annual family reunion dinner
-my whole family, including my whole extended family, was coming over to her house for reunion dinner
-this was my favourite time of the year where I get to see all my family members
-my family was big therefore she has to get a lot of different ingredients
- I asked her why do we specifically have to get the ingredients from the wet market
-she said that it was cheaper, fresher and there were more varieties
-when i first step foot into the wet market
-the smell of fresh meats gushed up my nose it smelled horrendous
- the smell of the meats was almost unbearable but I could do nothing about it

-everything was in a blur as there were so many people moving about to all the different stores
-the people here are from many nationalities, races and religion but it means nothing
-the wet market is a multiracial place where everyone from different backgrounds comes together even if they do not know each other prior to meeting at the wet market
-all I could hear was many voices speaking different dialects and languages
-all the voices were loud and sounded very rough and loud
-everyone around us was in or close to their golden years
-everybody was bargaining with the sellers
-at first I was afraid of the loud voices of everyone around me trying to bargain with the sellers
-but slowly I got used to the sounds and did not mind it
-my grandmother told me to get some Goji berries for the steamboat soup she was going to make
-I was a six-year-old who was tiny compared to the people around me
-I felt terrified, but it was my first task my grandmother had assigned me to and I felt important
-everyone looked really serious
-the sellers looked unfriendly
-but my grandmother reassured me that the sellers were actually really friendly
-I mustered up my courage to walk up to the oriental-looking shop that sold the Goji berries
-the shop was relatively small and cleaner compared to the other small shops as the floors were not as wet as the others
- the uncle working there was a tall and plump man
-he was bald and had glasses on
- “ah girl what do you need to buy?” the uncle whom I presume was the owner of the store asked me in Chinese
- I could barely hear his voice despite him being loud
- “uh i-I need to buy Goji berries,” I replied in Chinese
- “okay it’s over here come and take.” the uncle told me friendlily
-after buying from the uncle I went to find my grandmother who was standing a few metres away from me
- I then followed my grandmother to the other different stores to buy meat, vegetables and many dried goods
-when we went home, I kept on going on about how the wet market was a really amusing place to my parents and sister until they thought that i was getting really annoying as I kept repeating the same points repeatedly I felt proud that I had accomplished a task that my grandmother has assigned me to
- my first ever time in a wet market was a very memorable experience. It is a core memory of my childhood and I would love to live through it again and again
- I wonder what the future holds for wet markets. I think wet markets will not survive in the future as many youths dislike going to the wet market as the wet market smells like meat and it is not a pleasant smell, wet markets are also considered dirty as the floors are wet and most youths grew up in households where they do not have to lift a finger and they have helpers to help them with things. With supermarkets being the most popular place to get groceries from wet markets will be under utilised and will most likely shut down . Despite that, I really hope that the wet market will continue forever as it is not only a significant part of many people's life who has lived in Asia but it is also a place where many people can bond at because it is a common area where it is often filled with people.

standing up for the right thing means to support your own rights or opinions

-everytime i see someone being bullied or getting hurt, i will always defend them and help them fight back. why? you may ask, well you may think that standing up for someone or for yourself may lead to more trouble and that you will end up having enemies and hatred to the other side.

Story outline: I was fighting with my best friend(Eva) because she was spreading rumours on how I was a bad friend in school as I did not attend her birthday party.
- she invited me to her birthday party and initially, I said yes
- however, a few days before the celebration, I got sick and could not attend. However, I decided not to tell her to disappoint her
- Eva thought of it as I purposely did not want to attend. She started bad mouthing me to all my friends in school.
- Soon, everyone in the class knew about it and it made me super upset. I almost wanted to fight with her about these unfound accusations but I decided to confront her(angrily), telling her that I was sick and that there was a reason that I could not attend her birthday party
-She finally understood and tried to apologise to me.
-At first, I did not forgive her and continued to ignore her. However, I realised that I could not take her as a grudge forever and decided that it would be best to forgive her
in the end.

Intro: Forgiveness is defined as an voluntary internal process of letting go of feelings and thoughts of resentment, bitterness, anger, and retribution toward someone who we believe has wronged us. To Forgive someone depends completely on us and it’s our emotional capabilities that controls whether we can forgive or not . It may be hard to forgive someone, but we should forgive and forget in order to move on in life. I used to find it difficult to forgive and forget, however, to be the bigger person, the peace in forgiving brought peace to me and moved on in life. This was how it started...

-story outline

Conclusion: Forgiveness is about having a neutral or positive attitude towards the ones who have harmed us , Mentally , Physically or emotionally . It is not easy to forgive and not everyone can do it , as it’s more complicated than taking revenge . The act of forgiveness requires the person to have great self control and Internal peace. Forgiveness brings positivity and peace in our life

"Forgiveness is not forgetting, it is letting go of another person's throat" these words served as a powerful reminder that forgiveness was not a weakness but a path to liberation.

Background: My friendship with my best friend, Annette for over 7 years was built on a strong foundation of shared dreams, countless inside jokes and a bond that i believed that it would not break. In my friendship with her, i was always the smart and successful person. The one that would always score straight A's and win many magnificent trophies to put in my collection at home. However, my best friend on the other hand was the complete opposite of me.She would mostly score in a range between C's and F's and only received a certificate of participation in several competitions that she participated in.Although her behaviour was opposite of mine, she was very supportive and would always celebrate my victories with me.She knew how much good grades and reputation meant to me.

Two days before the final exam i had asked Annette for the topics because i had skipped a few days of school due to a competition .Naive me believed her even though i swore that the topics she told me had already been tested earlier in the semester.
(Annette lied to me and told me the wrong topics so that she could sabotage my grades so that i would not be "little miss perfect" anymore)

I received my test paper back a week after and saw that i got an F9,
while Annette received an A+.Although she had received an A+, she looked dissatisfied and gloomy as if she was guilty of something.I wondered why, why was she not happy at the fact that she got A?
I walked towards her and asked why had she given me the wrong topics to study.
She pulled me aside and confessed that she had lied to me about the topics to sabotage my grades as she was jealous of how i was the perfect girl in class and how her mother would always compare her to me.She grew tired of her mother's incessant criticism that she planned to make me fail so that her mother would once be proud.
I felt a sense of betrayal after hearing her.Not once did i think that she would do such a thing.Like i had said, she was always supportive.Betrayal was a bitter pill that was hard to swallow.
At first, i had a shocked of what she said, then followed anger "why did she do this when she knew grades matter to me" I decided to walk away from her from that day on.

The pain was consuming, but as days turned into weeks, I realised that the situation was more nuanced than it seemed.

In my moments of contemplation, I recognised that forgiveness wasn't about letting my friend off the hook or pretending that the betrayal hadn't happened. It was about freeing myself from the heavy burden of resentment and anger. Holding onto those negative emotions would only increase my own suffering.

So i decided that i had to have an honest conversation with her.She admitted that her mistake had taken a toll on her life and she regretted it a lot as she realised that what she had done made her lose a best friend of 7 years.

She apologised profusely while shedding tears and it was then i realised that forgiveness was what she needed. So i made a conscious choice to forgive her and the heavy sense of pain in my heart was suddenly removed as if it was not there in the first place.Forgiveness had granted me a sense of serenity.Positivity ran through my mind and I realised that I found peace after forgiving Annette.

Forgiving people and moving on in life was one of the most essential things i had learned, as i had experienced it in a terrifying accident just a week ago

Body: -i was going with my best friend down the escalator to buy some food
- We laughed loudly and crazily on the escalator and everyone's eyes were on us
- My friend thought it would make the situation even funnier if she stepped on my shoelaces and watch me fail to move my shoe
- in that moment i took a step forward to exit the last few steps on the escalator as i fell down face first into one of the escalator steps
-my vision was blurry and my nose felt numb but i had to geet up and leave the escalator
- i heard some muffled apologies but my mind was already filled with thoughts of rage and betrayal
-"She didn't even help me get up" was one of the many thoughts whizzing through my mind
- i wanted to be angry at her, but i was in too much pain and had to rush to the hospital
-In the hospital, it turns out i had a big scar on my forehead and i felt my beauty fading
- beside my hospital bed she was bailing out tears but it didn't matter."she was probably crying to make me feel like she was the victim" i thought
After going home i sat down on the floor , leaning against my bedframe with a mirror on my hand
-tracing the outline of the huge white bandage with my finger, i could not hold nback my tears
"how was i to go to school"
-The next day i came to school huimiliated. I wanted to tell everyone in school about what happened, but i didn't
- i simply didn't bother talking to her the whole school day
-when it was time to go home in the school bus, i realised she was missing and was absent the whole day
-going to her house, i opened her room door to find her huddled up in her thick blankets with her eyes red and puffy
- i sat on her bed as she started crying and saying that she was sorry

Conclusion
I realised that forgiveness was very important not only for posititvity, but for peace. Peace in those who had wronged us, and peace for ourselves.
When we refuse to forgive those who have wronged us, we ironically and powerfully hurt ourselves. I had to learn this the hard way, but i had to move on in life and let go of feelings of resentment. That is why i found peace after forgiving my friend.
