Have you ever thought of dealing with the deteriorating condition of the environment in our Pearl of the Orient? Garbage scattered all across the streets; the harbour full of decaying fish and leftovers; temperature up to 55°C... As a candidate for the new Chief Executive, what proposals will I formulate to prevent the situation from worsening?

Walking in this city of hustle and bustle, you may find well-developed technology and remarkable buildings. Unfortunately, behind the scene you can notice an underlying problem – plastic waste. In the past decade, more than 2,000 tonnes of plastic waste have been produced every day. “We should spare no effort in protecting the environment” is always a slogan we say, but we are not taking any action to save our home.

If I am elected, my cabinet will enhance amenities for plastic recycling and deepen collaboration with restaurants, so that less single-use cutlery will be used. With better facilities for recycling and lighter reliance on disposable cutlery, I believe more Hong Kongers will be motivated to build a better future for our place. Not only can we drive the development of a plastic-free society, but we can also give back to our next generation.

Have you ever considered that there were lack of land use ? Not enough places for resident to live , it is a serious problem for us.Thus, we should concentrate on that issue.

For solving the issue, I suggest that Land-use tax should be allowed .

Have you ever noticed that the air is becoming unclean ,compare to the past.The Air Quality Index which staying in the “unhealthy “range for a long time .

If we are elected,we will enhance actions to set stricter emissions standards for cars.For the street with fresher air,we will also introduce a plan of switching to electric vehicles. We hope to give a better living environment for our next generation .

Have you ever thought of how serious the marine pollution is? Plastic materials scattered all around the sea. Marine animals lost their habitat. Marine pollution levels are increasing at an alarming rate and are harming many aspects. For instance, coral cover in ocean is declining from 30% in the 1970s to less than 10% now. Therefore, the importance of protecting marine environment cannot be overstated.

If we are elected, we will establish a marine conservation department to roll out some rules to limit human behaviour and regulate the waste disposal. To safeguard marine animals’ life won’t be threatened by wastewater and garbage from human activities. I wish this policy can assist Hong Kong have a transparent ocean.

In your daily diet,fish might be your favourite meal.Unfortunately,the overfishing problem in Hong Kong become more serious and can’t to be ignored.Over 70% of fish declined in some areas.Our plan is to roll out a longer fishing moratorium according to fish breeding season,to solve the problem of overfishing.Also,coral in Hong Kong’s waters cover less than 10%,which is 20% less than during 1970s.We will establish a department to manage sewage discharge to protect coral.

Have you ever thought about our country return to the past that is no smell mix in air? Nowadays, the population of our world increase rapidly. That cause the demand of cars increase. More carbon monoxide and unburnt particles are evolved. The air pollution became more serious.

If I am elected,I will highly recommend to launch electric vehicles and plant more plants. Reducing the carbon dioxide and purifying the air quality. We will earmark 1000 billion for staff to plant over million trees and plants

Have you ever been annoyed by the turbid air and the suffocating gas created by vehicles? Nowadays, HKers

To solve this problem, we would formulate a series of legislative proposals, which limit industry companies pollution of emissions. Not only publish some punishment and limitation policies to industry enterprises , but we will also strengthen the public transportation sector's attention to environmental pollution. In this aspect, we will earmark $10 billion for the public transportation system, to encourage taxis and buses companies to use renewable energy.

If I am elected, my cabinet will promote the implementation of this policies packages.I believe more companies and organisations will participate in solving the systematic problems of air pollutions.

Have you ever thought about the problem of the streets in Hong Kong being too narrow?Roads that aren’t wide enough to let cars go both ways, decreasing the efficiency of travelling;Hong Kong not having enough housings to let citizens to live in or units being too small.As a candidate for the new Cheif Executive,I am planning to replan the old district design.Nowadays, about 40% of land is used for agriculture ,however much of this land is not utilised well.

To face this reality,Introducing restrictions for wrongful construction can help the situation.We are planning to fine the ones responsible for this matter.

Have you ever thought of what the ocean animals are facing?Unfortunately,our number of fish declined by less than 70%in Victoria Harbour .As a candidate for the new Chief Executive,I will formulate proposals to protect the environment of the ocean.

If I am elected,my cabinet will establish a network of Marine Protected Areas to save species from overfishing which is in Sai Kung.We will roll out rules of limiting the location and the number of fishing.One resident must not catch exceed five fishes.we will distribute the fishing rod we design as it can calculate the number of fish you have caught.Using this system,I believe more Hong Kongers will be motivated to protect marine environment.Thank you for listening.
