Settlers traveled west and took land from the natives and mexicans. Each land they entered they take the land for themselves. Natives get mad but the settlers try to remove the natives. They did that because they hated the natives and to get more room. But they did let other settlers come over.

2,000 mile journey, moving west. Settlers were looking for better climate and lifestyle. The journey contained 5,000 settlers. The cost for a family of 4 to travel west would be 600$. The family would wake up and start the journey at 4am. The children and some adults would walk, others would take the wagon. The journey would last about 6 months. They would collect rain for extra water and the oxen pull the wagons.
