Meanwhile, Danny is starting work. He is also sitting next to the nice hot radiator. The window open a little, because he can get some fresh air. Today, he has to process some of the University’s bills and invoices. The electricity bills are always very cheap because of all lights and computer are new. Denny prefers to have a battery-powered lamp on his desk. 

For their morning break, Mariella and Danny meet in the coffee shop. They both buy latte to take away. Danny doesn’t picks up a plastic spoon and a few packets of sugar. Mariella also buys a recyclable bottle. She normally drinks 3 or 4 recyclable bottles a day. They sit together on the cafe’s comfy antique sofas and talk about their plans for evening. They are meeting Danny’s friends for dinner but Mariella wants to go home, have a shower and get changed. Danny complained that they don’t have much time and he wants a relaxing bath so they are going to ride bicycle back into the town center. They are going to a new sushi restaurant which serves food in beautiful traditional bowls. It’s quite expensive because the food is all imported from East Asia. 

Mariella goes to the library to do some online research. She brought recyclable bottle of water and a bar chocolate. She reads on the computer screen some journal articles. Danny is back at his desk but he has a bit of cold so he has to go the toilet a lot to blow his nose. He abandoned tissues to trash box and washes his hands with the soap that smells like lemon. He’s a bit bored so he decided to do some online shopping. He needs a new t-shirt-his favorite one has a tiny hole in it. He chooses next day delivery because he doesn’t want to wait for days and days. 

For lunch, Danny sits outside the student union. Someone was talking about planning more trees in this area but he thinks that it is cleaner to have concrete. He has a packet of sandwiches and a packet of crisps. He fed a bird from a hand. He sees Mariella walking by with his reusable bag. 

What have you got? He asks. 

Oh, l just bought my lunch and new notebook, l’m bored with the one l’ve got. She replies. 

I’m in hurry, l’ve got to go to a lecture. 

They say goodbye and arrange to meet at 5pm near the car. Danny sits on the bench and thinks about Mariella. He decides to buy her a brunch of flowers.....
