<title>Final Art History Showcase by Alexander Eskew</title>
      <link>https://padlet.com/axe318/sijhxitjm4nfa0t7</link>
<description>You are about to enter a small gallery of carefully selected works. The first three pieces are of Western creation, with one coming from London, the next an independent American Artist, and lastly a sort of advertisement for a well-known American snack brand. The fourth piece of this show is differnt, being made by a female artist born in the Dominican Republic, yet raised in New York, meaning she has a sense of Western viewpoint to look from as well. In this Gallery, I want viewers to think about the history of Western fascination with the natural world, particularly animals. While countless cultures have integrated local fauna into their everyday lives, it seems that Western cultures see animals as something seperate, something to be watched and observed, not on par with human existence. This series of pieces, ranging from literal rerpresentations, repetitive patterns, and comercial gimmicks, leads to the final piece, made by a Latinx artist challenging Western viewpoints on the stance of animals in our world. GOALS FOR VIEWERS: 1) Think about how These Western representtions differ from many indigenous cultures you have seen before; 2) Which piece resonates with you the most, considering your perspective and background; 3) Do you notice any trends in the media you consume after viewing this gallery?</description>
