The answer is related to the point of gravity and the support point of the object. We’ve observed that the fearless balancer went down through the thread straight on, without falling down.

Physics say that it doesn’t matter the size, the weight or the structure, just it’s important the support point of the object (in this experiment, the thread). So that’s the reason why it worked.
