I see your point because a similar situation happened to me some years ago. When I was in it what I did was to contact her anyways and I can tell you it was worth it. So I would suggest you to call the shots and try to contact your friend although your parents disagree with your decision. Also you can try to make them understand your point of view and make them apologise for the argument with your parent's friend.
