I discovered standard and non-standard units of measure during the activities. We had fun measuring various objects with non-standard units, then we made measurements with a meter, ruler and compared the measurements. I compared the recorded results and discovered that the bench measured with the roulette is 65 cm, with Catalina's pencil it measures 5 and 1/2 pencils. In these activities, we tried to understand what is it the non-standard measuring tools and standard measuring tools, through measuring different objects with our rulers, pegs, paper clips and pen. Then, we played the games from the Web 2.0 tools and we stabilized our knowledge. We enjoyed it very much and we laerned by playing and having fun.

We were measuring length with non standard and standard units. We learned about different devices and when do we use it. So we had a lot of different objects and places that we had to measure.

My students and I really enjoyed this activity! At first we made measurements with non standard units (our hands, coloring pens and pencils, etc.) and then we measured the same objects aigain using this time a ruler and a measuring tape. We compared the results and then we talked about how we measure the area, the mass and the liquids. We enhanced the activity by using Web 2.0 tools and games!!!

In this activity we learned about standard and non-standard units of measurement. We measured with palms, thumbs, feet, elbows, and then with a meter. After that, we solved online quizzes where the students estimated and measured the size of the objects. They really liked this activity. It was very useful and interesting.

We are asked to measure :) Together with my sweet student, we measured many objects in our study environment such as tables, chairs, walls, doors and of course chocolate, using both standard and non-standard measuring tools. We separated standard and non-standard vehicles and refreshed our knowledge. We added fun to our lesson by using Web 2 tools. Eda is happy, I am happy :)

The computer screen is both two and a half spans and 28 cm. The student desk is both two spans and 30 cm. Damla is 148 cm tall. Today we held activities about standard and non-standard sizes.
