I have always grown up in a musically-oriented family. My mother would always play organ and piano for church on Sunday's and that encouraged me to take up an instrument, or maybe four. Soon I learned how to play piano, guitar, drums and banjo and that is where my music loving story began.

I remember getting to elementary school and already knowing a great deal about how to play music and I was starting to get more comfortable singing around other people. My mom knew that I could sing so she persuaded me to sing a solo at my fifth grade choir performance and I did just that. I remember my mom accompanying me on the piano and I sang on old Taylor Swift song. In that moment, I knew that music was going to have a great impact on me for the rest of my life.

After I graduated from fifth grade, it came to for one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life. I was transferring schools and I was always a shy kid, which made this move so much more nervewracking than it should have been. I didn't know anyone and I didn't know how to be myself without seeming like that weird girl who loved music.

I remember joining middle school choir hoping it would give me a chance to show that I had a passion for music and at the beginning it was hard. I really wanted to try out for solos, but I was too scared to get up in front of a bunch of strangers and sing a song. After several months of my mom begging me to try, I did. I tried out for a solo and I ended up getting it! I can't exactly remember what song it was, but I believe it was a song that I played on guitar. I remember blowing people away with the skill I had as a sixth grader and that was only the beginning.

By the time 8th grade rolled around, I was beyond ready to prove myself in high school. I was going to be the underdog again, but I was not going to let that stop from being as passionate about music as I already was.

My high school always does spring musicals every year and I thought that was going to be my perfect opportunity to show that I could be somebody. I remember being in the chorus of that musical that year. They were doing Cinderella. I also remember hating it. I couldn't focus on my school work. I couldn't be myself. I had to follow the direction of everyone else and was granted no freedom onstage. In this moment, I thought my love for music was gone. Until, we got a new choral director.

When sophomore year came around, I had almost given up on showing myself in the music department. I had little hope that I would ever be able to perform again. Then, Mrs. Brock came around and all of that changed. Not only did she give me a chance, she gave so many other people a chance to be somebody on stage. She helped me come out of my shell and be the performer I always wanted to be and she also gave me one of the biggest roles of my life.

After my freshman year musical experience, I did not want to ever do another musical again, however Mrs. Brock knew that I had the ability to be something big and she believed in me. With a lot of persuading and talking, she finally asked me to audition for the musical that year, which was Grease. I had no idea what character I would want to be in that performance, so me just being simple, marked all the female roles hoping I would at least get one of them. And I did just that. I landed the role of Rizzo and that completely changed me for the better. Getting that role as a sophomore in high school gave me so many more opportunities to come.

I tried and tried that year to improve myself so that by the time the next musical came around, I was ready. I improved my musical ability, got better on guitar, got better vocally and even improved my stage performance.

Senior year finally appeared which made this musical extremely hard for me knowing that I wouldn't be onstage again. I landed the role of Ethel McCormick, but I also landed the role being a role model to all the under classmen. They all looked up to us seniors because we had been doing this "performing thing" for years now. This musical was one of the most special because it was my last time being onstage with my friends who I now considered a family, however little did I know I would get more opportunities.

The three of us have always had a passion for music and plus we were all doing the musical together. We would often spend our evenings together, jamming and just making up music as we go, however what if we could actually make our own music? The idea then came to mind to make a band and we did that.

With Kylen and I being in college and Dane still in high school, it is hard to get together and write however our plan for this summer is to do just that and finish writing and work on more original pieces. Here is one of my favorite covers that we have posted on youtube. There's my story, what's yours?
