A l'époque l’Allemagne pensait gagner la guerre, contrairement en 1918.
Ce message est adresse au peuple de l'axe pour ne pas leur faire perde espoir et continuer a croire a la victoire.


Le nom « Atlantik wal » sert a montrer le dispositif mis en place par l'armée allemande pour repousser l'ennemi.
Cette affiche sert aussi a intimider leurs ennemis en mettant au premier plan les grosse fortification allemande avec les imposants canon dont ils disposer.
Cette affiche met en place une exagération car le mur de l'atlantique était un ensemble de bunker répartie sur toute les cote de Normandie, et non des bunkers mis cote à cote avec des canons dans chacun des bunkers.
Le slogan « 1943 is geen 1918 » montre qu'en 1918 les USA avaient débarqués, les allemands ne veulent pas que cela se répète.
