AHS is losing a real one. You are such an incredible educator and the kids who have had you as a teacher have only wonderful things to say about you. Even though I only got you as a teacher for one year I know how much you mean to all your students and coworkers. You're an amazing teacher and mentor and you make comp/gov a class I never regret taking. The funny puns and political jokes during current events would make my day. Always made his class so engaging and interesting. Constantly challenged his students while having fun and not taking things too serious at the same time. Comparative Government was so much fun and Mr Knight is the reason for that.

Hope you are doing well. Wanted to just say thank you for all you have taught me about comparative politics. I still use and rely on a lot of what I learned from you in my political science courses today, from Max Weber to Boko Haram.

It was definitely a favorite of mine, especially during COVID. I appreciate how interactive and engaging you made it. Wishing you the best in your next chapter!

I've loved your class so so much, you're definitely one of the best teachers I've ever had. I would not have been able to get through such an information-filled class without your genuine interest in the subject and excitement for helping us understand it. Thank you for all of the tangents, dramatic parliamentary debates, and for letting me hang out in your class last year with Gabby! Comp Gov was the reason that as much as I wanted to skip Block B days, I never really wanted to. I'm going to miss bugging (and bribing) you with Gabby at the beginning of every class.

You have become another colleague-turned-dear-friend in the couple of years (it took much less than two years) our paths have crossed here near the "Little Hill" of Albany. I can't thank you nearly enough for the support, encouragement, (undeserved) praise of my somewhat slapdash, free-for-all Socratics/reading lists, and devotion to keeping education "real" amidst the maelstrom-whirlwind-cyclone-blitzkrieg-tsunami-miasma-pandemonium of the post-truth, post-analog, post-post-modern post-contemporary, post-post-post-human, but still human, moment.

Anyhow. You are truly human, and a humane educator. I am looking forward to reconnecting and hearing from you as your journey continues just barely north.

Taking AP Comparative Government was genuinely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made—it sparked my interest in political science and international affairs which I now want to pursue in college and beyond.

Your passion for the subject and your ability to make complex global topics engaging and accessible made a huge impact on not just me, but so many others. I’m truly grateful to have had you as a teacher, even if only for a year.

I’ll always remember my senior year econ/gov classes as some of my favorite times because you were an iconic teacher. You always made sure I got my work done while also allowing me to be sassy 😂 I’ll never forget when we watched an episode of community in class, which was so epic, or when you pretended to be a Canadian Mountie riding a horse. Or when I got to inform you about what Jonestown was…still can’t believe I got to teach my teacher about it and that’s where ‘don’t drink the koolaid’ came from 🤣

Seriously though you were one of the best and one of my favorite teachers ever! Excited for you and where this next chapter in life will take you!! Buckle up cuz it’s a crazy world out there!!

You were one of the few teachers in my life who I found truly inspiring. I would go home every week and talk politics with my dad with a passion I never had before. Beyond the classroom you showed me that connections are what really matter in the world. I've had teachers who taught me course material; but with you I felt a real connection, a strong friendship. That connection made more of an impact in my learning than anything else could have. I enjoyed staying in your room during lunches here and there. I loved seeing your horse-sized dog wandering around campus. I loved your lighthearted, fun, and loving personality. You made Albany High School a brighter place. A place where students felt safe and inspired. Whatever you decide to do with your life I know you will be the star of the show. Your words take over the room and your personality clicks with everyone who has the privilege to interact with you. I will never forget you Mr. Knight!

It’s so hard to believe you’re leaving! Thank you so much for everything that you’ve done for us. You are such a wonderful teacher and human being and I can tell that you are so deeply passionate about the subject you teach. Comp gov was hands down my favorite class I’ve ever took in high school (seriously, and you are dare I say my favorite teacher!!), and it is because of you that I am interested in government/politics and planning on further pursuing economics in college! I will miss our conversations about the world news and anything and everything, the awesome chaotic mock parliament that brought us all closer together, and of course all of your passionate lectures! You’re the most engaging lecturer I’ve ever met and I’m not sure your speeches could ever be replicated by anyone else. You bring an enthusiasm in your lectures that is infectious!

I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to take this class under a teacher as exceptional as you. Comp gov will always hold a special place in my heart and you are one of the teachers that made high school worth it.
