This could be the different songs all connect by leading into each other and having the end of one song perfectly align with the beginning of the next. It could also be just repeating sounds or beats that the different songs have in common with each other. This is done in entertainment when a certain event or person comes into scene and a specific song plays. For example, when Darth Vader shows up in the Star Wars movies, the imperial march starts to play and is become know as Darth Vader's anthem. This is another way to add to the story or tell as story with music.
