I wonder what would happen if our bodies did not have all of the different nerves, touch sensors, and adrenaline. If we didn't have this bundles of cells and electrical signals rescue swimmer Matt may not be able to respond to the situations as fast. If you did not have these sensations you wouldn't be able to react to different situations.

I thought it was absolutely crazy that the brain overrides the bodies "thermostat" in order to keep the bodies vital organs alright. The brain causes you to stop sweating to retain the minimum water and to suck water back into your lungs and kidneys, ect..

Each square inch of a person's hand holds 600+ touch sensors. Even the smallest of touches can be felt, like the beat of a flies wing. Within a huge web of nerves the touch sensors report back to the brain. In fractions of a second 4000 nerves respond.

When your skin or body heats beyond 93*, different sensors signal our brain to use nerves to begin a cooling process. You start sweating profusely as it is the only way to efficiently cool the body. This can cause disorientation and cramping.
