         <description><![CDATA[<div>It might benefit students to take notes on paper first rather than type directly onto the prompt to get their thoughts organized before beginning to construct a response.<br><br>Students can highlight each source in a different color to help them organize any notes they write down. Then they know which source to look back to based on their notes.&nbsp;<br><br>Students can also be taught to chunk the readings into paragraphs so that it seems more attainable to read through all of those different sources.<br><br>It is helpful to see a sample of what these assessments look like.&nbsp;<br><br>It will be helpful to have students practice these and if teachers practice scoring them, they will also know how students will be scored, that way we know how to best prepare students as well.&nbsp;<br><br>These sources were high level and it is a process for students to unpack the vocabulary and make connections between the different sources. These skills need to be taught so students can be successful with these aspects of the assessment.&nbsp;<br><br>How do we best prepare students to do all of these things and make all of these connections who are below grade level in reading? </div>]]></description>
