the world is running out of frankincense

Frankincense is an historic significant plant known for its use in religious rituals and traditional medicine and valued for its therapeutic benefits in the wellness industry.

The frankincense grows spatially in the horn of Africa because of the dry rocky environment, countries like Somaliland, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Sudan are the home of various species of the boswellia trees which produce the resin used for frankincense.

This article is about Salaban Salad, a frankincense harvest from Somaliland and his challenges harvesting growing climate change and economic pressures that threaten trees and livelihood as a study case of a large crisis of Frankincense global concern.

The frankincense market is estimated currently at approximately 363 million dollars with expectation to be doubled by 2032 but the benefit of this growth does not affect the harvests effectively. There are some risks for running out of frankincense represented by Lauren Hadeed in the article written 5 years ago on the BBC NEWS.

OVERHARVEST

Overharvesting can damage and hinder the trees ability to recover as they often tap trees excessively in order to supply the market needs.

CLINMENT CHANGES

Due to the article the climate change making them more vulnerable to pests and diseases, in time the tree population dwindles and the supply will drop.

ECONOMIC PRESSURES

Economic pressures on harvesters for more supply leads to exploitation of trees which make the harvesters face a great financial instability and diminish the primary income of harvesters.

HARVESTS BENEFITS

Market prices will rise but local harvests will likely see minimal benefit due to existing disparities in the supply chain.

SUSTANABLE PRACTICES

The lack of regulation leaves harvests without sustainable practices to flourish and endangers tree populations.

A 2019 study indicated that production of frankincense can drop by 50% by the next 20 years due to the factors that indicate the changes if sustainable practices are not adopted soon.

Sustainable practices can implement traditional tapping methods to help the trees recover, encouraging planting, establishing trade by true fair compensation harvests, training harvesters on sustainable practices to produce in long term viability and mentoring to oversee harvesting to compliance with sustainable method can secure the future of frankincense and supporting the communities that rely on it.

Personally, I learned the benefits of frankincense from my mother a long time ago. Every Friday before my brothers returning from serving the army she used it to clear the environment with lighting pieces of frankincense. I think it will be sad to lose such a beautiful ceremony because of ignorance and over advantages of harvest like Salaban Salad.

Doron and Eden - The First Israeli Fashion Runway in the Sky.

The First Israeli Fashion Runway in the Sky.

Israir Airlines decided to launch an unusual in-flight fashion show during a Rome-bound flight. They teamed up with Israeli fashion designer Yaron Minkowski, who created a special collection inspired by the airline’s cabin crew uniforms. Minkowski said, “This show connects sky, style, and the Israeli spirit.”

About half an hour after takeoff from TLV airport, the passengers realized they were not on another ordinary flight as the aisle of the Israir Airbus A320 transformed into a runway. Models walked between the seats wearing Minkowski’s mini collection. The fashion show marked the official launch of two new Israir routes to Italy, bringing the total number of Italian destinations served by Israir to six, joining their existing flights to Rome, Verona, Naples, and Catania.

In our opinion, this idea is very creative, special, and unforgettable. Israir was the first to do it, and we are sure that other airlines will follow them and take inspiration from this incredible event. This is a very refreshing way to present new routes, and the mini collection was beautiful and authentic.

To sum up , This high-altitude runway was more than just a show, it was a bold statement of Israeli creativity and the future of travel.

Eran Zahavi has stopped playing professional soccer. This is very big news in Israel.

Zahavi is 38 years old. Many people think he is the best goal-scorer in Israel's history. He played for big teams in Tel Aviv. He also played in other countries like Italy, China, and the Netherlands.

Fans loved him because he worked very hard. He was famous for scoring important goals near the end of difficult games.

When he said goodbye, he thanked his fans for cheering for him for 20 years. Other players are writing nice messages about him online. They respected him very much.

Zahavi holds the record for the most goals scored for the Israeli national team. He showed young players that if you work hard, you can become a star. He might become a coach in the future.

A man named Jaythan Gilder went to a Tiffany & Co. jewellery store in Orlando, Florida. He pretended that he wanted to buy expensive jewellery for a basketball player. Suddenly, he stole two pairs of diamond earrings worth about $700,000 and ran away.

Later, the police found him and stopped his car. During the arrest, the man swallowed the diamond earrings to hide them. The police took him to jail and used an X-ray machine. The X-ray picture showed the jewelry inside his stomach. The police had to wait nearly two weeks for the earrings to come out naturally. Finally, they recovered the jewellery, cleaned it, and returned it to the store.

I really hope from the bottom of my heart that Deni Avdija will be selected for the NBA All-Star Game. It is amazing to see him ranked 7th in the West and 13th overall in the fan voting. Seeing his name above legends like LeBron James and Kevin Durant makes me feel very proud. I believe Deni deserves this honor because he is playing incredible basketball right now. He is playing many minutes and getting close to a triple-double in almost every game. The article explains that the new format of "USA vs. The World" might make it harder for international players to get in. However, I think his talent and hard work are clear to everyone who watches the games. Even though the All-Star game itself has changed over the years, being chosen is a huge career milestone. It shows that he is one of the top 24 players in the best league in the world. I hope the coaches and the media see his value just as much as the fans do. He is the heart of the Portland team, and he is leading them to surprising wins. I am waiting impatiently for the final results to be announced. It would be a dream come true to see an Israeli player represent us in Los Angeles.

Interview with Forrest Gump:

Interviewer: Forrest, thank you for sitting down with me. You have had such an amazing life. Can you tell us a bit about your back story and how it all started?

Forrest Gump: Hello there. Well, my mama always said, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." I grew up in Alabama, and I wasn't very smart, and my legs didn't work right when I was a little boy. I had to wear big metal braces. Other kids were not very nice to me, but I had my friend Jenny. She was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. One day, some boys chased me, and Jenny shouted, "Run, Forrest, run!" So I ran, and my braces just broke off. After that, I could run everywhere!

Interviewer: And that running changed your whole life, didn't it?

Forrest Gump: It sure did. It got me into college to play football, and I even met the President! Later, I went to the army and fought in Vietnam. I made a very good friend there named Bubba, who loved shrimp. I promised him we would start a shrimp business together. Bubba died in the war, which made me very sad, but I kept my promise and bought a boat. I named it Jenny. We caught a lot of shrimp, and I became a millionaire! But mama always said there is only so much fortune a man really needs, and the rest is just for showing off. So I gave a lot of it away.

Maryl Streep- Shani Gabay

I have recently participated in an acting lesson, in which the teacher examined one of Maryl Streep’s scenes in the film "The Bridges of Madison County”. I would love to share the information with you, since it was very inspiring as a filmmaker. Maryl Streep made some very sophisticated choices which were not in the script, which made an enormous difference to her character as well as to the movie. For example, Streep chose to pray differently than her family members before the meal. They pray in a Protestant way, and she prays in a Catholic way. This highlights the gap she feels as an unappreciated mother. She feels unseen. Moreover, she chose to close the fridge door with a leg movement. This is a subtle decision, but it is rooted in further information that we discover later in the movie, which is that she had once wished to be a ballerina, but instead found herself a housewife. These small conscious decisions make the character complete and very much authentic. Thanks to that, the movie feels more complete and more authentic. We understand her despair.

Meytar: Hi Miley! Thank you so much for talking with me today. The first question everyone wants to know is what is it really like to live a double life? You are a regular student by day, and a huge pop star by night.

Miley: Hi! Honestly, it is completely crazy. It feels like a rollercoaster. On one hand, as Hannah Montana, I get to ride in limousines, wear glamorous clothes, and perform for thousands of fans. On the other hand, as Miley, I’m just a normal teenager who has to do math homework, argue with my brother Jackson, and try not to embarrass myself at school. It really is “the best of both worlds”, but it can be a lot of pressure!

Meytar: Why did you and your family decide to hide your identity? Was it hard to keep this secret?

Miley: When we moved from Tennessee to Malibu, my dad and I decided that having a normal childhood was the most important thing. I wanted real friends who like me for who I am, not because I am famous or rich. Keeping the secret was definitely hard. I had to make up crazy excuses all the time to explain why I suddenly disappeared!

Meytar: How do your best friends, Lilly and Oliver, help you handle all of this?

Miley: Lilly and Oliver are my lifesavers! When Lilly first found out my secret, I was so scared she would treat me differently. But they are the best friends anyone could ask for. They help me hide my blonde wig, dress up in disguises like "Lola" and "Mike," and they always keep me grounded when the fame gets to my head.

Meytar: Last question- if you had to choose just one world, who are you really underneath it all? Hannah or Miley?

Miley: Wow, that is a tough question. Hannah is a big part of me because I love to sing and make people happy. But underneath the wig, the makeup, and the flashy clothes, I will always be Miley. The simple girl who loves her family and friends. Miley is who I truly am.

He sold fake medicine to sick people and promised them it would cure everything. He smiled like a kind man, but inside he only cared about money. He never felt sorry when people cried or lost hope because of him.

One rainy evening, Mr. Crow tried to sell his newest bottle, called "The Miracle Cure." He stood in the town square and shouted, "This will save your life" Suddenly, he slipped on the wet ground, and all the bottles fell and broke. The liquid spilled everywhere, and the strong smell made everyone cough. Then his own voice disappeared because of the chemicals he had mixed.

For the first time, Mr. Crow could not speak. The man who used words to trick everyone lost his voice forever. From that day, the town became quiet, honest, and safe again.

Eden Choota - An Interview with the one and only : Phill Dunphy !!!

I recently had the chance to interview Phil Dunphy from Modern Family.

The first thing I asked Phil was how he manages to keep such a strong relationship with his wife and children. Phil smiled and said that family always comes first. He believes that love, support, and spending time together are the most important things in life.

I also asked him how he is always so funny and quick with jokes. He laughed and said that he never takes himself too seriously and always tries to find something positive in every situation.

Then I asked him a more personal question. I asked if there was anything difficult in his life, because he always seems happy and cheerful. Phil became more serious and admitted that sometimes people do not take him seriously because he is always joking around. He said that this can be frustrating because he cares deeply about his family and works hard for them. He also said that, like everyone else, he has moments when he feels lost or unsure of himself, but he tries not to let those feelings stop him from enjoying life.

Next, I asked Phil what his biggest dream was when he was younger. He said that he always wanted to be successful and make people proud of him. He also wanted to have a happy family and a home filled with love and laughter.

I then asked him what he was most proud of. Without hesitation, Phil said that he was most proud of his family. He explained that being a good husband and father means more to him than any job or achievement.

Finally, I asked Phil what advice he would give young people. He said that life is not about being perfect. Instead, people should enjoy the little moments, be kind to others, and never be afraid to be themselves.

It was very interesting to learn that behind Phil's jokes and funny personality, there is also a thoughtful and caring person who values family, love, and happiness above everything else.

Interviewer: Thank you for speaking with me, Katniss. To begin our interview, could you share a bit about your background and what life was like growing up in District 12?

Katniss: Life in District 12 was a constant struggle for survival. After my father died in a mining explosion, my mother fell into a deep depression, and I had to become the provider for my family at a very young age. I spent my days illegally hunting in the woods with my friend Gale, using a bow and arrow just to put food on the table and keep my sister, Prim, alive.

Interviewer: The turning point in your life was undoubtedly the Reaping. Can you describe your background and emotions leading up to that moment?

Katniss: I never expected my sister's name to be drawn. She was only twelve, and it felt like a death sentence. When her name was called, fear completely took over, but my protective instincts were stronger. Volunteering in her place was not a heroic choice for me; it was the only choice because I could not let her die.

Interviewer: How did your background in District 12 help you survive the Hunger Games?

Katniss: The hardships of my childhood actually saved my life. Years of hunting meant I knew how to move silently, find food, and use a weapon under pressure. The Capitol thought we were weak because we were poor, but poverty taught me how to endure pain and stay alive.

Shushan Palace

interviewer: Hi Queen Esther! I'm Chen. Thank you so much for agreeing to talk to me. You literally saved our entire nation, but honestly, how did this whole crazy journey start for you?

Queen Esther: Hi Chen, it's wonderful to meet you. You know, it actually started very quietly. Before the palace, my name was Hadassah. I was just an orphan girl raised by my cousin Mordechai, living a simple life with a massive secret.

The Hidden Identity

interviewer: Right, Mordechai told you to hide your Jewish identity when you entered the King’s beauty contest. Wasn't it exhausting living a lie in the palace every single day?

Queen Esther: Oh, it was terrifying! For a whole year, I was surrounded by luxury, oils, and perfumes, but inside, I was just constantly praying. My beauty felt like a mask, and the palace was like a stage where I couldn't mess up my lines."

Haman's Plot

interviewer: And then everything hit the fan when Haman plotted to destroy the Jews. When Mordechai asked you to step up and talk to the King, did you want to just run away?

Queen Esther: Completely. I was paralyzed with fear because walking into the throne room uninvited meant a death sentence. But Mordechai told me something I'll never forget: 'Who knows if you were chosen for such a time as this?' That’s when I realized this wasn't about me anymore.

The Fast & The Risk

interviewer: So you decided to go for it, but first, you asked everyone to fast for three days. That is incredibly brave. You basically accepted that you might not come out alive.

Queen Esther: Exactly. I told them: 'Fast for me, don't eat or drink.' I needed spiritual strength, not physical beauty. I just closed my eyes and said: 'If I perish, I perish.' I had to try.

The Golden Scepter

interviewer: |Wow. And then, the King extended his golden scepter and spared your life! But instead of telling him the truth right away, you invited him and Haman to a private dinner party. Why the slow drama?

Queen Esther: Haha, it was pure strategy, Chen! I needed Haman to get arrogant and trapped in his own pride. At the second banquet, I finally dropped the bomb and revealed his wicked plot. The King was furious, and my people were saved.

Advice for Today

interviewer: That is the ultimate chess move. Last question, my Queen: what’s your best advice for people today who are terrified to stand up for what's right?

Queen Esther: Don't wait for the fear to disappear, Chen. Just do it afraid. You might be the exact person standing between someone else and a disaster. Your voice matters more than you think.

Interview with Lucy from the movie Materialists

Interview with Lucy from the movie Materialists

Udi: Hi Lucy. I think a lot about how challenging the dating scene is for our generation, and the movie really hit home and got me thinking.

Udi: In the movie, the matchmaking agency where you work has very strict and definitive criteria for who can date whom. It’s as if a person is reduced strictly to their height, wealth, and political views. Based on your own past, did you feel like these are the traits that actually determine whether a relationship will be successful?

Lucy: Honestly, not at all. In my own dating history, I’ve been with partners who, on paper, weren't supposed to be a match at all, and whose stats might not have impressed me. But when you meet in real life, it’s a completely different story. At the end of the day, either the magic is there or it isn't.

Udi: So how did you feel comfortable working in a place like that if your own past proved otherwise?

Lucy: I just adapted to the rules of the game. High-achievers who live and breathe American capitalism at its finest view the world this way. It’s not my personal worldview, but as a service provider, I detached myself from my own beliefs about relationships. I understood that for them, this practical approach actually works.

Udi: As someone who sees countless Gen Zers, what do you think is the biggest obstacle making it so hard for young people to find love in this era?

Lucy: Excellent question. First of all, it's FOMO, the endless sense of opportunity that the digital space and dating apps provide. It's like there's always a better option out there. On top of that, the fact that everyone has a social media profile means everyone has a business card. Because of this, before a date even happens, we judge our potential partner based on dry data. We paint a picture of who and what they are without actually getting to know the person behind the images. It is incredibly tough to be young today.

Based on a true story

Villain Vanessa

She was named Vanessa, but most people knew her as Villain Vanessa.

At first, she looked kind and friendly. She smiled a lot and was good at making people trust her. But she was very different behind their backs.

Vanessa told lies about people. She liked to cause problems between friends and make people argue with each other. She often changed stories to make herself look good and other people look bad. She enjoyed making others feel confused and doubt themselves.

The most odious thing about Vanessa was that she never said she was sorry. Even when she hurt someone, she acted like she had done nothing wrong. She blamed other people for her mistakes and always wanted attention.

One day, Villain Vanessa saw smoke coming from her house.

“Fire! Fire!” she shouted and ran outside.

Nobody believed her. Everyone thought she was telling another lie. Vanessa had lied to people for many years and had caused many problems between friends.

She kept asking for help, but nobody listened.

The fire got bigger and bigger. When people finally saw that Vanessa was telling the truth, it was too late. Much of her house had burned down.

The firefighters came and put out the fire, but Vanessa had lost many things from her house.

As she looked at her burned house, one person said, “You always start fires between people. This time, a real fire caused trouble for you.”

For once, Vanessa had nothing to say.

The Interview: Taylor Swift

HAGAR: Taylor, thank you for making the time. When I look at your career, especially over the last few years, I don't just see a musician I see a director and a storyteller. Each of your albums is like a theatrical 'era,' a full production with its own costumes, color palettes, and archetypes. How do you approach building these worlds when you first begin writing a new project?

TAYLOR SWIFT: Thank you, Hagar. That's such a huge compliment, especially because that is exactly how my brain functions. For me, a song never just stops at the lyrics and the melody. The moment a line is born, I can already see the color of the stage spotlight, the fabric of the dress, and the script for the music video. With Folklore and Evermore, for instance, it really felt like writing a play in acts. I invented characters like Betty, James, and Inez, and I needed to escape into a visual, imaginary forest to give them life. The process always starts with a feeling or a mental image, and then I build the entire theatrical set around it.

HAGAR: It’s fascinating because your audience becomes an active participant in this theater. You plant foreshadowing 'Easter eggs' in music videos, album booklets, even in your street style. It turns your fans into detectives inside the plot you're writing. Why is it so important to you to make the listening experience this interactive?

TAYLOR SWIFT: Because music shouldn't be a monologue; it’s a dialogue. When I started writing songs as a teenager, the fans were the ones who made me feel less alone. I wanted to reward them for listening so closely. It’s like a secret code between us. When I plant a clue, I’m telling them, 'I know you pay attention to the tiniest details, and I respect your intelligence.' It turns the music into a shared game, a space where the stage and the audience merge into one big, living piece of art.

The Karma of Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are two of the greatest soccer players of all time. However, Ronaldo was always very confident and often said that he was the best player in the world. He liked to talk about how he performed in the biggest moments and how he carried his national team on his back. Many fans felt that these comments were indirect attacks on Messi, even though Messi was also an incredible player and often let his performances speak for themselves.

For many years, the debate between Ronaldo and Messi continued. Ronaldo kept insisting that he was the greatest because of his achievements and leadership. Then, in 2022, something happened that changed the story. Messi led Argentina to victory in the World Cup. Throughout the tournament, he scored important goals, created chances for his teammates, and inspired the entire team. Argentina won the trophy, and Messi finally achieved the one title that every player dreams about.

The irony was that Ronaldo had always talked about carrying his country in the biggest moments, but it was Messi who ended up doing exactly that on the world's biggest stage. While Ronaldo's World Cup journey ended earlier, Messi lifted the trophy and celebrated with his teammates. In the end, the karma was simple: the player who let his actions speak louder than his words achieved the greatest success of all.
