Adiel has shown pleasing progress in his literacy development. He enjoys participating in literacy activities and is beginning to recognise letters and their sounds with growing confidence. His ability to construct simple words and identify familiar sight words is developing steadily. Adiel listens attentively during storytime and can recall details from stories discussed in class. With continued encouragement and practice, his reading and writing skills will continue to flourish.

Adiel is a beautiful soul — witty, jovial and full of warmth. He has continued to come out of his shell, showing greater confidence in engaging with his peers. He enjoys talking, laughing and running around with them and is more eager to participate in group play. Adiel shows genuine concern for those around him and is developing lovely social awareness skills.

Emotionally, he displays age-appropriate behaviour and has made wonderful progress in managing his feelings. He cries less and now prefers to talk through how he feels or what has upset him. Adiel has shown maturity in understanding that expressing himself calmly can help resolve situations more effectively. Well done, Adiel!

Adiel has developed a better understanding of his full body image and demonstrates awareness of which body parts need to be included and represented in his drawings. He has given of his best and his body drawings are age-appropriate. Adiel can confidently name and identify his body parts, showing a growing understanding of their functions. Well done, Adiel!

His core strength still requires some support, as it impacts his balance and response time when on his feet. With continued encouragement, practice and Occupational Therapy sessions, Adiel will further strengthen his body control and confidence in movement.

His pencil grip has improved and he now writes more accurately within the lines. Adiel has continued to show steady improvement in his visual development and what he displays is age-appropriate. His visual tracking skills are growing and he is becoming more confident in applying what he sees to his activities. He still benefits from gentle reminders to stay focused on visual cues and instructions, auditory processing skills will need to be continued to work on and are age appropriate. Adiel’s puzzle-building skills have also improved — he can now complete a 36-piece puzzle with assistance.

With gentle reminders, he becomes less distracted and is able to focus on the task at hand. His concentration continues to improve and he now shows greater endurance, displaying less fatigue and giving his best effort to complete activities. Adiel has enjoyed exploring various mathematical concepts this year. He works confidently with different tools and uses his fingers effectively to assist with addition and subtraction sums up to 10, which has also supported his fine motor development. Adiel, it has been such a pleasure to watch you grow and develop into the wonderful boy you are today. I have seen a wonderful improvement in your overall development this year and this been a year younger than your peers. It would be beneficial for Adiel to repeat Grade R to fully excel and achieve what is needed for Grade 1 overall.
