Responsibility(for students to take-charge of their own learning)
Tech-savvy
cognitive thinking
self-discipline
Education needs routine, order and discipline
Most importantly, education needs to be incorporated with the motivation to learn and this voices down to our teachers who inspire and spark that want to learn and thirst for more knowledge in our students.

All of which cannot be done by technology. Thus technology can never fully take over the role of an educator as students cannot be given full responsibility of their learning, Students require guidance from an learned adult to guide them through their educational pathway, to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge, deliver effective character building and soft-skills, to nurture and shape them into future-ready leaders of the working society in the 21st century.

The main point of this article is that students should view exams and assessments as a form of milestone checkpoint/ feedback of their learning progress for further improvement. Instead of viewing exams as something that define who they are as a person and focusing on the marks and grades, they should focus more on the learning process and skills acquired as these are the things that will follow them through life.
For example, the O-level English Oral exams is carefully designed to hone students' skills in becoming a good speaker and conversationalist in school, social and even future work settings. This shows that the exams are crafted to best cater to the needs of our students' future in the working society in the near future, such that these skills learnt are relevant and applicable in real life.

The ability to sustain a conversation and stay up-to-date on the current affairs is a immensely helpful tool in order to survive in the working world.

Examination scores are usually viewed as a projection of ones intellectual aptitude. However, there is another perspective where one can view this - as constructive criticism and feedback. Of course, learning to take it as feedback is much harder than taking it as a reflection of ones intelligence, especially if a lot of effort has been put into studying for the exam. However, one of the qualities of a learner that one might pick up from studying for exams may is taking the experience learning from the mistakes you made in the exam. Very much like in a office, you make a mistake and you learn from it to guarantee that you never make the same one again. A very useful skill of taking criticism and turning it into a helpful source of feedback.

Another way that learning for exams may also be learning for life is studying for languages. English, Chinese, Malay, in Singapore these are the major languages used. Studying for something like the O-Level oral communication component for example, the skills that one may learn from studying for the exam are many. Skills like articulation, pace, fluency and well-chosen vocabulary are all skills needed to be a eloquent English speaker. Such skills are huge assets, no matter what the industry. Having well-developed linguistic skills are imperative for any job, from applying for a job to communicating with coworkers. Linguistic skills picked up from studying for exams will be huge assets for anybody.
bro you write so much ty dad

The 3 most important skills to me are :
1) Resilience(soft skills)
2) Communication(inter-personal skills)
3) Growth mindset(positive attitude)

Reasons:
In life, especially during work, we will have to face with many challenges and setbacks that will knock us over along the way. Thus, we have to be dauntless so that we have the strength to carry on the treacherous journey that lies ahead of us. We must always remind ourselves that no matter how dark times may be, we will eventually see the light at the end of the tunnel. Tell ourselves we can do it, believe in ourselves and we're already halfway there. If we fall, we have to bounce back up to where we were before just like a ball. We must learn from our mistakes and grow stronger then we were before. Therefore, I feel that resilience and having a growth mindset is very applicable and essential to possess in the 21st century.

When we meet/ face with challenges, know that we are never alone. Our family, friends and even colleagues are here for us. Share our difficulties with them and who knows, they may even be able to 'crack the code' to the seemingly daunting problem.
In the workplace, its never a one-man show.(even superheroes work in teams) There must be effective communication among colleagues to get the job done at the end of the day. Through communication, we can get to know one another better, work out our differences, work better with one another, forge healthy relationships and many more benefits. On the other hand, miscommunications can lead to misunderstandings, conflict and tension among colleagues, creating a toxic work environment. Hence, this is why I feel inter-personal skills is very crucial in the 21st century.

In my opinion, students will never really get to fully develop these skills if they continue staying in their own comfort zone and never having to face any real-life challenges/ difficulties /hardships before. In school, students are so protected by their teachers and parents that they are oblivious to what is happening in the outside world. For example, current affairs as they rather go onto social media platforms such as TikTok or Instagram than watch the news every now and then so as to keep themselves updated.
Other than hosting camps and Values-In-Action projects/activities that are only temporary and thus may not impart much knowledge and real-life skills to students in such a short time frame, schools could consider creating a GAP year or half a year(preferably after Secondary 3) where students have to find a part-time job and create a monthly log/ reflection on what were the challenges they faced in their workplace, how did the problem arise, how did they resolve it and what were the key learning takeaways.
By doing so, students are hence better able to experience working in society, broaden their perspective,go through some hardships, know how difficult it is to earn a living, being able to better appreciate their parents and at the same time, gain some life experiences and come back to school as a more mature and sensible person.

Also in this current period of time of the pandemic, lots of our basic ict skills is used be it doing assignments online or knowing how to go for online classes. Hence, having ict skills is an important skill.
Self-discipline
-Only by having self-discipline then one can progress far. Self-discipline helps us to stay focus on our goals or what we want to achieve. This skill of us is also needed due to the pandemic owing to Home-Based Learning(HBL). Hence, self-discipline is an important skill needed to be successful in life.
Learning from our mistakes
-Many of times people treat mistakes as failure but in fact it is a stepping-stone to success. Even though we make mistakes, as long as we learn from them, we still would have benefited. However, if we treat it as a failure and refuse to reflect or learn from it, we have basically wasted our time. Everyone is bound to make mistakes in life but what distinguish successful people from unsuccessful people is that successful people learn from their mistakes and do not commit the same one again. Hence, learning from our mistakes is an important skill.

This gives the students a chance to speak up to the class or in front of the whole school. Communication skills can be practised, hence, by giving students a chance to practise this skill that they learn would definitely come in handy.Schools can also teach students how to prioritise their time during CCE lessons. In addition, they can also host workshops for critical thinking to allow students to think of different ways to solve the problem . Lastly, i feel that self discipline cannot be taught. All the teachers can do would be reminding students to not procrastinate and hand in work on time. However, it is our choice to make if we want to do so. Thus, discipline can only come truly from oneself, once they understood the importance of it.

self discipline, communication and literacy

reasons : for me, its important to practice self discipline because i need to learn to be independent and take responsibility of my own time and actions. communication is also one of the most important ones for me because i feel that communicating with other people will definitely reduce conflicts and misunderstandings in the future. Lastly, literacy is really crucial because i have to learn how to articulate what i want to say efficiently so that other people understand me.
