The students are having great self-awareness and are socially awake. They can distinguish between who they believe they are and who they aren't. They are aware and ready to stand up for what they feel is right and also willing to conscientize the people around them towards doing the better right. That is how concerned citizens should be cultivated to build an equal and independent society.
They have got a 'ready to learn and contribute' mentality rather than being seekers and receivers always. The idea of good welfare systems itself should be like this where the citizens are self-sufficient individuals instead of being just receivers of patronage provided by the state. Preparing individuals to be self-aware and self-sufficient itself is the greatest social work we can do. Let them carry forward the vision of a global brotherhood and equal development.

The students are on a path to change. They display most of the points from the SF- 21CC explicitly. Their statements are solution oriented which is a great trait for lifelong learning and happy living. It is wonderful to see that students at this young age have an understanding about their families and community and accept it gracefully. This acceptance mindset leads students to change this massive society one step at a time. The true outcome of knowledge is to look beyond themselves for a better society is primely portrayed by these students. When the change happens through self-awareness and community awareness it can be pretty surely stated that it is going to bring a huge positive butterfly effect.

After watching Divya's video I realised how much she is aware of herself, the surroundings and the current reality. Despite being vulnerable, she brought in a crowd sensitive issue and aced her opinion in a genuine and constructive manner. According to the SF-21CC, Divya is responsible, resilient, aware, and sensitive socio-culturally. And she communicates that very effectively. The fact that she is extremely aware of the fairness advertisement, people in her audience who may/may not be a user of the same, and that she doesn't agree with the idea did not stop her from taking her stand and voicing out her opinions. She has voiced for the moral integrity that she holds for herself and for the millions of people who are just like her that she sees in her world.
While watching Ritu and Akash's video, I could sense how actively they are aware of eachother's communities no matter how personal their situations are. The fact that they are bound to have these experiences make them resilient, manage life and relationship, be harmonious amongst eachother and show empathy throughout their journey of life itself... The SF-21CC clearly tells us how these children are aware socially, personally, economically and globally. It is also extremely important for these children to be ambitious, globally informed and thriving to look ahead in life. What I do not yet see is the clear demarcation between the vision and vision in action of these children. Providing that skill through the course of my teaching would be a great experience for both me and the children.

The videos and articles kindled a strong sense of awareness in me about how the kids are and how they should be. When I engaged with Divya's video, I could experience a sense of responsibility, grit and self-awareness in her. She was able to express herself and her thoughts with a genuine integrity and at the same time connect with everyone on a topic that is socially responsible. While we connect the same to SF-21CC, Divya indulged in responsible decision making while she decided to speak about this topic. She is also resilient, aware and socio culturally sensitive. They way she made connections to a fairness advertisement and transitioned into addressing about her thoughts of a national leader shows how confident and strong as a personality she was. Her strong voice was heard as she was very self-aware and at the same time able to appreciate diverse views and communicate effectively.
Ritu and Akash's video proved how they actively believe in their abilities and be able to create a change despite their situation. Their learnings from the experience of life has made them into gear up to make their lives and their surroundings better. As per SF-21CC, we can see that they practice harmony and resilience, they are socially aware along with a social sensitivity.
We can see that these students are behaving as per the desired outcomes of their age. They have developed a way of life that help them think beyond just themselves. They are able to communicate persuasively and able to collaborate their thoughts into action.

What I am not able to see is the actions and environment that have supported the development of these children

Divya has a more solid sense of self-awareness and identity than most adults I know, which is inspiring to see. She is able to differentiate between who she isnt, and who she is and who she wants to be. This will help her in "Leading Self" and growing more in her vision for herself. But in this particular video, there isn't evidence of her taking ownership for her own community and context. That is something we cannot yet see.

With Ritu and Akash, we see a similar sense of self awareness and reflection. They talk about growth areas and where they would like to improve as well. One of the things that touched me the most is how they knew that their didi would not be there for them constantly and that they should learn to be independent and become self-directed learners. From their anecdotes, it is clear that they take ownership for their community and the problems they see and speak out against beliefs and actions against their values. At this young age, they are facing and solving social issues of sexism, domestic violence and loss. This is a strong example of Leading Others and shows their commitment towards community upliftment and creating safe environments of learning for everyone. They share their big visions as well of being Prime Ministers and Army Officers, which show that they want to take ownership for the nation as well.

Can see the Singapore Framework for 21CC and student outcomes come alive here, because we see evidence of the students being confident (articulate), self directed learners (high RC level mention and learning by themselves) as well as active contributers (street play, girl's education- Ritu) and concerned citizens (all 3 of them).

Divya's, Ritu and Rakesh's videos even though different subjects, but still are most relevant problems that we need to address and lend our ears to. The skin colour based discrimination and the problems of children who have drunkard fathers are something we've been taking since a long a time and it is also something we find difficult to put an end to. We were able to hear about three children but there are many more whose voice is not heard, actions are not seen or even some who are helpless and not even aware if there can be any solution to all these. We all, like the children in the videos dream of a nation where there is no bias based on colour, caste, religion. We all dream of having a poverty free nation where every home is peaceful and safe for its inhabitants. The 21CC Framework and student outcome model by Singapore is something that is holistic and might help our country and our children in many ways. The children in the videos showcase many traits that have been mentioned in the framework, for example they showcase core values such as responsibility and care which is evident in Ritu, she was ready to speak, console and be there for her friend who lost one her parents, Ritu herself was going through a hard phase still she decided to be a help. Divya was self aware as to who she was or what she wants to be. Ritu and Rakesh wants to be the change and also bring the changes and are now confident that these changes can happen. Something that is missing today in most regions is that the schools and parents working together along with the children towards reaching the desired outcomes. It is one step to be prioritized and focused on in future as mentioned in 21CC. Divya spoke about how she is happy in her skin but how can she or her teacher help her friends and many other people overcome their insecurities about skin colour and stop prejudices and hate comments is something that was not shared and amiss. Ritu and Rakesh shared the problems they faced at home and how they spoke up, how they enacted street plays and what brought at least a minute change in their homes it is something to be appreciated and encouraged. I believe that nobody is a bad person, life and circumstances shape people and push them to extremes may be we can focus on the root causes and help them from where it went wrong, or at least help the future generation so that they know how to handle life and not fall but rise and shine.

Such a socio-political consciousness I saw in Divya’s video . They are not feeling inferior to themselves and that is how they are leading themselves.
Ritu & Akash's video , they are able to understand their challenges and to find out the solutions to it by the help of their Didi. They are having the courage to influence their parents through different methods like street-plays.And they are having courage and proper support system to lead others and India .
Both articles shows what the counties expect from the coming generation by investing education. few of the outcomes can be seen in the videos we watched that they were self directed , able to make changes , confident and not having a feeling of inferiority.

As I was watching Divya speak, the first thing that struck me was the amount of self-acceptance the kid had this definitely came with a lot of unlearning with regards to what is socially accepted and what is not. She was extremely self-aware. To be able to identify and understand something that is so fundamentally flawed in society but still fed in the minds of children for generations and to be able talk about it with such candor and integrity is not easy. But I see responsible decision making come alive here when Divya took the step to address her views in front of a bunch of people in the most sensitive manner, backed with incredible examples that will help people make connections and understand the depth of the concerns she was talking about.

As I was watching Ritu and Akash’s interview, I could see two children who are socially aware and are clear about the harsh reality of their communities. The children show immense grit to go out their way and create change despite the fears they have and being fully aware of the challenges they might face. They show a lot of resilience, social sensitivity and awareness. We see that these children are demarcate between what’s right and wrong and express themselves confidently and are able to care and empathizes with one another. We see them take a leap of faith anticipating change for the better. We also see them beautifully articulate their strengths and areas of development at that age which shows how self aware they are and how they strive to be better individuals everyday.

With reference to the SF-21CC, we can that Divya, Akash and Ritu, although are voicing out complete different concerns, exhibit of self-aware and socially responsible they are and how they express their views and opinions with no inhibitions and only a strong attempt to create change in the smallest possible way. They are aware of what is right and wrong and how to call it out with respect and integrity. Although, I am curious about what are a few student and teacher actions that went into kindling these thoughts in the minds of the children.

Discrimination is a social tool that has been used to keep minorities under control by the majorities in most cases. Discrimination on the basis of skin color, popularly known as racism is a social evil that has been affecting the lives of millions of people since ages. Divya beautifully spoke about the evil of racism and how Nelson Mandela has been a pioneer in fighting for the rights of black people. When she begins her talk by describing who I am not instead of saying who I am, she is not letting societal beauty standards take over her potential as an individual. “I am dark but I am not sad, I am happy” is a very powerful statement that comes from a 13 year old girl, who is declaring a war against conventional norms that determines the happiness of people. To be comfortable in one’s own skin is the fundamental basis of her confidence. Not giving other people the autonomy to control one’s own happiness and worth is a major take away from Divya. Your worth and your life is your own decision and the society should not have any control over the same is something that reflects throughout Divya’s talk.

The very first thing that Akash said in his interview was his decision to speak up whenever there is something wrong. The courage to call out injustice from one’s own parent at such a young age is highly appreciated. Identifying a problem in the household and involving external agents to resolve the same denotes higher level of planning, collaboration and problem solving. Not being bothered by criticism during the conduct of the street play is another element that stood out to me. Ritu is also confident that she will use her own life as an example to make her father understand the importance of education. The students were able to identify their strengths and weaknesses at this young age. They are taking accountability for one’s own drawbacks and are determined to overcome the same by putting in adequate efforts.

The Desired Outcomes of Education reminds me of the GAPCA model that we follow. The Desired Outcomes of Education are qualities or skill which every Singaporean student is supposed to posses when he or she completes their education. Setting objectives or goals or end products of education will help educators in channelizing their process towards those qualitative outcomes. These outcomes drive their policies and also act as a check for state education system. The Desired Outcomes of Education focuses on three major domains: Self-awareness, moral compass and skill-knowledge system. It focuses not only on academic knowledge but also on individual growth and value systems. The Singaporean learners should also become confident persons, self-directed learners, active contributors and concerned citizens. The end product of education is not just a skilled individual rather an independent human being who becomes a valuable resource to the society. The educators who formulated the Desired Outcomes of Education were conscious of the capabilities of children at each phase and thus did not come up with a universal or common model for all the age groups. They have segregated school levels into primary, secondary and post secondary, with each stage having different desired outcomes. Having an end product in mind while formulating the educational structure will enhance the quality of education and will also ensure that students walk out as potential resources for the world.

After listening to Divya, Ritu and Rakesh I could strongly sense the amount of growth they have with respect to the way they are thinking, handling their emotions or it may be the problems they face. For a 4th or 5th grade student, the level is really astonishing for me. When Divya spoke about “Who am I?”I could see a lot of acceptance within herself and she is proud of who she is and this level of acceptance is not even present in the adults nowadays. The integrity she possesses is needed for each and every child out there to be confident and in facing their challenges throughout their life. I could clearly see that the values and morals they have are strongly aligned with the 21CC framework. Ritu's words about changing the future is totally about “Leading India”, Though she is confused about what she has to become, her only goal is to do good for the nation and to the people who are in need. They have chosen to raise their voice inorder to stop domestic violence, and they didn’t care about how small they are or not even worried about whether those people will listen to their words. They had only one thought that they have to stop the bad and it should not happen again. I could say it is a perfect example for “Leading Others”. On the whole, the students have a clear vision on what they want and how to reach their goals and I could see that the students have understood themselves and they are preparing to reach their target with their inner potential. I could see “Leading self” is aligned with their thoughts and actions. The thing which I don’t see here is the path for them, they have many dreams and goals but they are unsure about the steps to be followed further, they need clear guidance. As a student, we will have millions of thoughts and dreams, but when we reach our adulthood some of us even forget those things amidst the challenges which we face in our life. These kids need a strong support system and their dreams/goals now should not die in any situation.

As Divya was talking, I could see a lot of self-awareness and a strong sense of positive self-image. She has not only identified who she was and who she was not, but also understood where this is all coming from. It was beautiful to see her not succumb to societal standards, but took the effort to know the story behind he discrimination without a humane rationale. She also started with the right example showing how this discrimination is being conveyed and internalised by a large group of people through even the simplest of practices and beliefs in a global level. She could connect her own self-image with the experiences of a million other people. Expressing one’s views and opinions is not an easy thing to do especially when it comes to challenging social norms. She did it with grit and integrity.

Ritu’s and Akash’s interview focused majorly on social awareness. They did not want to be bystanders of the issues that happened around them, but wanted to move a step ahead and see what they do about it. This might have been the result of the empathy along with the social awareness they had. This requires grit, taking responsibility and having a sound moral compass. Articulating their strengths and areas of development to speak up for what they believe shows integrity.

With regard to both the videos, I was able to see how the students have shown the desired outcomes of education by being aware about themselves and the world around them, and also being able to express it. They are confident as they do this. They have got most of the core values and skills( mentioned in the the Singapore Framework for 21CC and student outcomes) playing out as they share their experiences. I am curious to know what helped them develop these values and mindsets, and how would they be able to take it forward from here.

From the videos, I see the children are well aware of who they are, the issues around them and what they can do about it.
Selfawareness: all 3 children are able to articulate their strengths and exhibit self acceptance. It was amazing to watch Divya logically state thought provoking ideas and facts to promote body possitivity and adress discrimination based on colour. We could see her not only build confidence and acceptance in self but also reach out to her class mates by sharing her ideas.
Akash is able to articulate his strengths and AODs. We also see Ritu leverage opportinities around her when trying to contact and checkup on her friend.
Similarly we see the children leveraging their school to adress issues that they see and experience in their community. We see their intigrity and resolve when they take their project out to the community. They are not only aware of the issues around them but also have a strong moral compus to speakup and adress it respectfully. They are confident that they can innitiate change.
In the context of the 21CC, we see the children follow all the core values, exhibit the social emotional competencies and are globally aware to some extent.

After watching the student videos, I noticed how aware they are of themselves and the surrounding they are in. They are in constant grit for change and hope. I was awestruck at the way they put their thoughts into words. Divya was able to site a socially taboo topic with care and concern while Ritu and Akash were resilient kids who are striving to bring a change in the community they live inspite of the challenges and obstacles that they might face during the process. To talk about such things amidst a crowd with different mindsets is not easy. When I connect it to the SF-21CC, the kids are very outspoken and responsible in making decisions of her own. They express themselves to be socially aware and responsible citizens of the country. It is heartwarming to see such young minds to determined to bring a change knowing what is right and what is not. The courage to speak out their minds when they see injustice is a brave and a commendable attribute in such young kids. When I was watching the videos, I got reminded of my own classroom and children. There arose a strong feeling to March my kids along the paths of self determination, self awareness and decision making. Amidst a society that always ridicules and condemns, appreciation to the fellow teachers who have kindled such strong spirits and a mindset to grow and change things for the better.

What I infer from the videos
Leading Self:
Divya talks about clarity of thought and how she is not influenced by the society as she decides who she is. She also talks about how she picks and chooses what she wants to take inspiration from to grow and learn as a person.
Rithu and Akash on the other hand talk about their reflections and self analysis discovering their strengths and AODs. They also speak about how they leverage them and what they want to work on in the future.

Leading Others:
Divya talks about people that inspired and lead other people like Nelson Mandela and Earnest Hemmingway. She showcases her knowledge of how to lead others and the qualities one must process to lead others.
Rithu and Akash are able to identify the strengths and AODs of their peers and talk about how they leverage each other to support each other's learning.

Leading India:
Divya talks about taking inspiration from people who made history and following values and choosing who she wants to be without being affected by other people's judgements.
Rithu and Akash talk about the problems they find in their school and the community around them and how they want to take ownership address the problems creatively. They also talk about what social need they want to contribute towards when they grow up and have started thinking about a career towards the same.

Divya has a high sense of who she is, who she wants to be and who she isn’t and able to resonate with other people who she sees as her role model. Socio emotional learning has created a bigger impact on Divya’s self-awareness and social awareness that is a great example of leading self. Though she has an opinion on things around her and able to articulate about a lot of things around her that causes trauma and other bad impact for people, she is yet to start leading others and India through action. Her perspectives when put into action will create a major impact in future, but nothing is evident in the talk she made. Few of the desired outcomes of education in Singapore education system are being confident persons, self-directed learners, active contributors and concerned citizens which are evident in Divya’s talk.

Through Ritu’s and Akash’s conversation, it is evident to see the Singaporean Framework for 21CC and Desired outcomes coming alive on everyone every strand of the same comes alive with the lines they talk. Akash seeing domestic violence not knowing what it is, but being able to understand what it is with the right exposure given and taking action that corrects the bad behavior of his father, and determined to achieve the goal. His father behaving bad doesn’t makes him lose respect on him but he is determined to set things right rather than hate his father forever. The responsibility that they show and how they want to be independent self-learners rather than being dependent on anybody and waiting for others to problem solve is not something Ritu’s and Akash’s thoughts are for their age.

I can first see how deep the values have been laid and how these kids were able to relate it to their life experiences.

Divya

Discrimination based on colour has been in our society for a really long period of time and has affected mental health of large number of kids and adults.

The points that Divya had put forward “ I am not who others tell me”, “Who I am to my enemies” and “I should choose who I am, I should decide rules of my life” eloquently shows the grit and determination that the kid has towards accepting ourselves.

Akash and Ritu:

They worked as a team and were able to think of the solutions for the problems they face at their homes and execute in a practical way, but they did not stop with their own homes alone, they took the ownership to communicate the problem to their community and create awareness. They were not scared or reluctant of the comments passed at them but they looked at the positive side that one of the people is willing to give a thought to change. The empathy that these kids show towards their peers is admirable.

The kids are very specific about their future, they did not aim for their development alone rather they aimed to develop their community and India which is a really strong thought at this age.

The specificity about their strengths and areas for improvement and their perspective to change are really inspiring. The amount of self awareness is made her to step ahead of our societal stereotypes/myths and misconceptions. Addressing such psycho social problems with proper understanding shows the amount of self awareness she has.

Ritu’s and Akash’s: These kids are Socially Aware.

In both the videos, I wonder how these kids were understanding, accepting, analysing, relating and connecting with the outside world which most of the adults were struggling to. They were both self and socially aware.

When Divya was orating about “Who am I?”, she was able to chunk the topic to the audience. She demonstrated the courage and consciousness to lead self, lead others and lead the nation. She was able to break the stereotypes and thoughts on discriminations. She was capable of analyzing the information and connecting it back with the corporate scam. Her “Who am I?” was connected with herself, the current stereotypes, action of Nelson Mandela that changed the world’s perspectives and positivity of Earnest Hemmingway which changed the history of hope!

Akash and Ritu were working together and were able to think of the solutions for the problems they face at their homes and execute in a practical way, but they did not stop with their own homes alone, they took the ownership to communicate the problem to their community and create awareness. Through Ritu’s and Akash’s conversation, the Singaporean Framework for 21CC and Desired outcomes are coming alive evidently. Akash experiencing domestic violence was able to take actions and was so determined to achieve the goal of changing his father’s attitude and set things right rather than complaining or taking chances of the situation. The responsibility these kids have and how they are trying to use the situation to turn into independent learners, problem solvers and decision makers is not what all the kids of their age are capable of.

All the 3 kids are already exhibiting the desired outcomes of Singapore Framework for 21CC. With no doubts, at the post-secondary level, they will grow to be resilient in the face of adversity!
