"Restorative Justice is a theory of justice that emphasizes repairing the harm caused by criminal behavior. It is best accomplished through cooperative processes that allow all willing stakeholders to meet, although other approaches are available when that is impossible.

As a future educator, I have certain standards that I would like to implement in my own future classroom. As a general education teacher, my main goal is to provide a learning environment where all my students will gain new knowledge and skills that will assist in expanding their mind. I also hope to guide all my future students in an academic journey that will include higher education. This will all be possible working together, trying new strategies & methods that will be modified for the needs of all my students. Accommodations will also take place in my classroom to make sure all students are being provided an equal education experience, where learning is occurring for all.

Implementing a restorative justice approach in a classroom is imperative since it provides students a second chance in making better choices and communicating with other personnel to guide them in the right direction. Instead of getting punished or suspended from schools students can have an opportunity to form a community with others and make changes. It gives students the chance of accepting responsibility for what they did. In addition, students can also build a relationship where repairing is present. It also serves as a way for a school to be a safe environment where learning can take form in unique ways further than the classroom, but also

In this article, the focus is on two ninth grade girls who at first did not know how it would be for both to be in the same location together after the fallout, but by taking part of this they were able to communicate and work out the problems. In this situation it did work for them.

"When Restorative Justice in Schools Work" (Richmond, 2015).
Retrieved from:
https://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2015/12/when-restorative-justice-works/422088/
This article focuses in a high school in New Hampshire where there was a lot of controversy when beginning this system of restorative justice. One student who got another student's cell phone, and send hurtful messages was now going to take part in restorative justice. The article focuses on the feelings of that student taking part in this community building. The student did not think such a small thing like this was going to affect other students' lives but it did and he got to see another perspective of what he did wrong, as well as another opportunity.

"Restorative justice: One high school's path to reducing suspensions by half" (Khadaroo, 2013).

Retrieved from:
https://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Education/2013/0331/Restorative-justice-One-high-school-s-path-to-reducing-suspensions-by-half
This article focuses on how the numbers in this school have gone down by half due to practicing restorative justice. This takes part in Oakland, California where two girls who got into an altercation that included calling each other bad names was able to be resolved by communicating in a restorative justice practice. Not only did these two girls able to fix their differences, but they also learned what it takes to build a community circle with peers via restorative justice. The girls were able to have compassion and empathize with one another in order to grow and learn about what they did wrong, instead of getting expelled or referral.
