The first person to find Chile was a Spanish explorer, named Ferdinand Magellan, in 1520. Later, a Spaniard, Pedro de Valdivia, founded the capital of Chile today, Santiago. Chile won independence from Spain in 1810 and started formed a government.</div>]]></description>
