My project is on Ms. Kate she is a former client of mine who had bipolar disorder. I chose the first photo of the two extreme ends of her moods when her disorder manifested in her brain. On one end she struggled with depression where she was down and couldn't bring herself to do much. She would stay locked up in her room and not shower, or do much. She had little to no energy for days at a time. Which leads us to the 3rd photo, of a girl laying in bed depressed. The second stage is her Manic stage where she was energetic and excited about things. Her thoughts are all over the place. She can become aggressive and behave recklessly. During these times she needs medication to regulate her moods, and that is why I picked the second photo. The third photo is my favorite because people often wondered why she couldn't get herself together and how she could have such opposite behaviors. The brain scan shows that there are a lot of activities going on there that she cannot control. Therefore her behavior was hard to self-regulate. It was important that she took her medication.  The psychodynamic perspective best helps me understand Ms.Kate because her mental activity has a dramatic impact on her behavior.
