The AEIOU protocol helped to guide thinking and campers were able to brainstorm at least 2-4 questions per vowel, allowing for a comprehensive panel discussion. Every camper asked the panel a question and took notes to gain insight about problems.

What surprised you?

The questions were well rounded and guided by the guiding question.

What would you do differently?

Possibly consider using a microphone and speaker, and possibly prep the panel to consider the age range when answering questions for kindergarten through second grade.

We incorporated intentional time throughout our week (jotting in journals around prompts, specific protocols to narrow and hone in on ideas, and verbal sharing out).

What surprised you?

It was great to see and hear from all students about their hopes and fears, how positive all campers are, and how well they came together as a team.

Again, time got away from us! We were working hard!

The Storyboarding protocol helped to further develop the finer details and design the solution. The campers also were able to explain their part of the storyboard and give each part specific feedback, such as what might work well and what they might consider adding to their solution.

It was surprising to hear the many ideas they had as well as how the campers combined their ideas and collaborated well together.

What we would want to keep in mind is to maintain our flexibility and adjust activities/protocols to support thinking for our campers.

After the Rule of Thirds, campers still needed additional time to narrow down their ideas. Based upon their "breakthrough" ideas they voted again and landed in the solution of creating an sports closet, organization and check out system in efforts to keep Tanglefoot Park's space beautiful.

A customer profile protocol is a structured process for identifying and documenting the needs, goals, characteristics, and expectations of a potential stakeholder (user, client, worker, business partner). It helps students design solutions that are relevant, user-centered, and aligned with real-world stakeholder needs.

Then, students shared out and as a group we dissected and defined parts of the question to have a better overall understanding.

Students would share out their ideas and whys. Then, we would share the pen to create an interactive writing piece

Then, with our NUFF test and finding a point system (Let's tally up your fingers!)... we found out that creating sports/games/activities would be a NEW ideas, USEFUL idea, FEASIBLE idea, and of course FUN!
