Rifka's family went to America without her the same day she left for Antwerp. She was being treated by a nun who refused payment and told Rifka to say a prayer so she wouldn't itch her head. After a few weeks all of her hair was gone. She was treated very kindly and had a nice room that she liked very much. Rifka received letters from her family including money so she can pay for treatment.
