This Image simply represents something I think of regarding both Covid and Black Rights Protests. It is the logo for 'Woke', which has a twitch channel I would watch during lockdown featuring protests across the US live against police brutality. You could, and did, see police brutality live, which personally made me feel outraged and somewhat powerless. I remember also seeing the Trump Impeachment trial being botched by an incompetent judge. The protest footage was by the people and opposed mass media.

Boris Johnson represents an unsavory part of our government; inequality, classism, oppression, nepotism, party collusion and so on. At its core he is a reminder of and figurehead to the idea that no party with any moral grounding has the ability to make their voice heard, the unfortunate truth that MP's are all friends and protect their own interest no matter whether they are Labour or Tory and how our government is ultimately outdated: A case could be made that ours is not a democracy, and the representational part of our own, which was once there for logistical reasons, is now only there to limit us.

Art obviously depicts versions of life and in the case of Star Trek, it is a somewhat realistic ideal for our future. We have always known what is right and wrong, in this show's case laying out clearly rather advanced and humanist ideals, however as a people we have always ignored these ideas as a whole. Star Trek is heavily oriented towards our own behavior, and the standards we should set ourselves. It is clearly liberal, somewhat unrealistically disbanding currency but also focusing on diplomacy, mental health and political satire. Science fiction, just like speculative fiction with Handmaid's Tale, and even fantasy, each depict examples and allegories for us to learn from. Star Trek is set in our own universe in the far future after a devastating and realistic war, and so it answers broader, important questions while mirroring the modern day. Every day, it seems, for a long while.

"BAD LUCK! THAT'S MY JOB! I'M A STANDUP COMEDIAN, I'M MEANT TO CHALLENGE PEOPLE! IF YOU DON'T LIKE BEING CHALLENGED, DON'T WATCH MY SHOWS! WHAT'S THE MATTER, GUYS? TOO CHALLENGING FOR YAH?"

This satire stand up bit by James Acaster is regarding Comedians who use the idea of comedic safety (the right for a comedian to be controversial so as to challenge dominant opinions), as a way to bully bully minorities. He observes that lots of comedians actually go after people who are already arguably disadvantaged, like when he says: 'Oh yeah, because you know who's been long overdue a challenge, the Trans community...'

All the fiction of Godzilla is nothing but a political and environmental metaphor. Japan's originals were statements towards nuclear testing and usage, an understandable fascination for them due to the mass war crimes they endured by the Allies to end WW2. It is interesting then that new adaptations focus more on the environmental aspect, making Godzilla an allegory for climate change and nature fighting back against humans in general. Interesting because these films are American.

Fatphobia?

This Youtuber's videos seem to always be from a medical perspective. Unfortunately this appears to upset certain viewers as medical experts agree that it is healthier to not be overweight. For some, the simple statement of this fact is enough to anger them. As he states, he agrees fatphobia is real, and is when people demean because of weight. He argues that his job is to improve your health, and so it would be illogical to demean when being helpful sees better results to improve a patient's health. This is linked to the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard case, where he lost roles due to an unsubstantiated claim while Heard kept her major roles despite there being proof of her own abuse towards him, including severing one of his fingers.
