Spirituality -

Understanding or faith that there is something that exists outside of ourselves. Not just about a sense of other- it’s about a sense of self. It allows us to understand ourselves. Undefinable.Contextual. Something we are working towards. Nothing concrete. Language to the unknowable. Jewish understanding of God- undefinable. What are the elements of yourself make you who you are.Spirituality- how do we see ourselves. It’s personal. It’s our interpretation of what we experience. Spirit is a part of the person. It has an emotion or a movement. Students turn away from Catholic spirituality, however embrace spirituality as a concept. Lack of clarity of the definition. Can create debate. Daily trust in the one true God. Relationship between ourselves and God.  Meditation is a way to connect with God’s word and finding purpose. Allows a way for God to reveal his word to us.

  • Life can be full of noise and distractions and many people like to practice meditation as an opportunity to unwind or reflect.

  • Christians may practise meditation in a variety of ways but the idea behind it will be to grow closer to God by creating a space to allow God to speak or reveal more of Himself to the person seeking him
  • opportunity to stop and reflect on God

  • Meditation in the Christian tradition isn’t about emptying your mind of conscious thought but more about becoming more aware of who God is, his work in people’s lives and in the wider world
