One word I would use to describe Bruno is self centered, but he could be nice to (you'll see my reasoning at the end about how he is nice) , I think this because in page 5 it says "Who would you miss the most? asked Bruno me or Gretel?," "especially since he knew that he was her favorite." Also he calls Gretel a hopeless case all through out these four chapters and when he sees the new house he immediately criticizes it, and starts yelling at everyone. The only thing people could put against this argument is how caring he was twords the people behind the fence changed together. I think this book is a great one, and I can see why they made a movie about it. The only thing I really have to say about Bruno is he reminds me over the kid from "The Toy" I mean maybe he just wants to pinch Mr. Jack Brown the windup toy's nose.( Do you get it from the movie when he is talking to the other toys saying how all the kids want to pinch his nose :)...)

In my opinion, one word I would use to describe is self-obsorbed. I know this because on page 1 it states, "You take your hands off my things." Also, on page 5 Bruno is very un-grateful for the of the fact that there new house has one less floor than his old house. Lastly, Bruno gets to the house he starts screaming to Maria the maid, Gretel, and his mother because he left his friends in Berlin. So far, the book is super cool because it's like a life lesson to all readers because it teaches respect to family and friends.

The words I would use to describe Bruno are nonjudgmental, but a little rude, but maybe it wasn't all of his fault. Maybe he was only taught to not raise his voice and not to interrupt. But, he can kind of only look to the bad of the situation. When he just saw the house, he immediately noticed that it was only 3 stories, not 5 compared to his last house. (Mine is only 3) :.(. He also didn't take into consideration that he may be able to make new friends on this journey of his. But when he saw the Jews behind the barbed wire fence, he wouldn't really judge them, though. Unlike his sister, he didn't focus on how unclean they were. So maybe Bruno cfould use that kindness and go a long way with it. So far, I think it is leading up to become a great book.

One bad word I would use to describe the father is, scary, my reason for this is how scary or mad do you have to be to make your own son scared of you. I know this because it says Bruno felt in awe and scared at the same time when his father was talking to the men in the old uniforms. One good word for his father is part of the same piece of text in this session Bruno said that his father was handsome, has nicely shiny boots and a neatly pressed uniform. P.S. I like how he describes the boots as booming like in "Yellow star."P.P.S. i know it might seem like I didn't read but I found a good and bad thing about the father when I was rereading to see where Bruno describes the father.

If my father was like Bruno's, I don't know if I would be able to have a strong relationship with him. But one GREAT thing about Bruno's father was the very great amount of graciousness he was to Maria, the maid. He gave her a job, gave her a home, and other things that he really didn't have to. I think this great trait overpowers the not so great trait.

And father is an important part to the Nazi's, and I think Pavel is a Jew, so it would all make sense that Pavel is a Jew. And the thing that made grandmother really shocked me, she said she was ASHAMED with father at the party because he was just promoted. Maybe grandmother is the only one who has a sense (Until Bruno) of what is right. Not any other person was ashamed or dissapointed or upset or angry with father, they were all happy for him. I felt really bad fro grandmother because she probably felt all alone. Also, grandfather wasn't being nice to her at all. He was ignoring her, then he would talk about how great this was for father. What a bunch of bologna.

I can't believe that Bruno's family hosted one of the most evil people in all of HISTORY! Adolf Hitler. During the dinner Bruno didn't hear the conversation of the dinner because Mother told him and Gretel to go upstairs.

What made me pretty mad was how Bruno wouldn't just tell Gretel about Shmuel and Gretel's reaction to Bruno's "Imaginary friend". Bruno just kind of only looks on the bad side of his sister, but maybe she would of done something terrible knowing that Bruno was talking to a Jew and would of told father which would lead to a terrible position for Bruno. I have no idea of what kind of punishment Bruno could earn for his father being an important role in the Fatherland. Anyway, back to the question. On how Bruno wouldn't tell Gretel, Gretel is much older and much more responsible with what she shares and what she doesn't share. Maybe Bruno could put a little trust in his sister because for one thing, if it was this serious, I wouldn't make a peep to anyone about Shmuel, not even my father. And plus, Gretel started to light up during the end of the scene, showing worry for Bruno because he said he had an imaginary friend, and Gretel gave him advice. Maybe Gretel isn't so bad after all.

This ending made me feel, upset :( I hate it I hate it, the fact that he mistaken for a Jew and had to go on the march and yet most of the people didn't know that they were going to die. Buuuuut... I still like the ending when they were holding each others hands and saying how they were best friends. I think this ending could have been avoided if Bruno just stayed on his side of the fence but no he had to just go. WHY Why did they have to die. :(

The ending of "The Boy In the Striped Pajamas" was I personally think was a good one. I think this because I think its revenge or karma to Bruno's father because I think he should mourn like every Jew he made suffer. There's a famous quote from H.R. Wells from The Flash, "destiny's can't be changed, nor can they be rewritten." No. I don't think that Bruno's death can't happen. Bruno could have not happened though, if he never met him. But since he did no. Because Bruno was vey attached to Shmuel. R.I.P. Bruno

I thought this was one of the best endings to a book ever. I can tell because it will stir emotions at a great amount. Like this book, it made me really upset. What made the ending even better was how Bruno's last words were, " You are my best friend." This ending was so inspiring, because it is just amazing seeing such a friendship, that not even death could separate them. It made me almost shed a tear, mixed with sadness and joy. This truly was a beautiful ending to a great book. Bruno's death could of obviously avoidable, he could have just said "No" to going under the fence and trying find Shmuel's father, but it was absolutely the right thing to do.This has been probably the book that has touched my heart the most out of every book I have read in my life. Very well done book.
